It was break week, sure, but William had let his involvement in science projects get the best of him and had been rather remiss when it came to his library shifts once or twice this semester, so here he was.

Partway through his efforts to reshelve returned books, one decided to come loose from the shelve above and bean him on the head.

"Curse of the Lost Pharoahs?" William murmured to himself. He wasn't one for fiction, normally, but something had him opening the book to peer at the first few pages and before he knew it, he was totally engrossed in the tale of murder, mayhem, and mummies.

Who will totally put his book down to help you!

"Kiss ki--Oh! William!" Karla recognized the quiet young male behind the counter, mostly because of Christmas at Sookie's. They might also technically have been married during the weekend when they were all children, but Karla wasn't sure.

William took a few seconds to respond, mostly because he was in the midst of a terribly engrossing chapter, you see, and he just had to at least finish the paragraph before looking up and offering the girl a smile.

"Miss-" confound it, what was her last name? Did she have one. "...Karla," he settled on, looking somewhat sheepish. "What can I do for you?"

"I was just coming in looking for a few books," she said with a shrug. "Break week is coming up and I'm pretty sure I have a date with the beach and something fun to read."

She wandered over to the desk to see what had him so glued to the pages. "Any suggestions?"

...Or maybe he's a little too engrossed in his reading.

Although the librarian may also be in attendance.
