Anyone else have a bad feeling about that? Good. "Read your clues carefully, follow the directions of the locals--as much as you can understand them if you aren't fluent in what seems to be ancient Greek--and try not to die." With that he stepped back from the clue box.

Richie thought, very very briefly, about attempting the bull-leaping. But he thought he'd rather remain alive, thanks, because Tessa would kill him if he came home dead and then Mac would kill him for upsetting Tessa and he didn't yet know that he could die that many times. Fishing it was then.

Somehow it didn't take nearly as long as he'd feared to catch 20 acceptable fish. Maybe the gods were smiling on him, or maybe the crumbs he'd tossed into the water had helped. What, he'd been hungry and there hadn't been a trash can nearby, so the crumbs had hung around his pocket until they came in handy.
