A visibly annoyed (but at least he wasn't a kitten any more) Anakin stood in front of the Danger Shop's door waiting for his class to arrive, playing with a ribbon that had, until a few hours ago, been decoration around his neck. "Since we did the Old West last week, I decided to program the simulation with a scenario that is more familiar to me," he said, opening the door. "Welcome to the forest moon of Endor. Try not to die."

"Never looking at teddy bears the same way again," Warren mumbled as he tried to fingercomb his hair back into place, feathers slightly ruffled to account for all the weird little decorative things that had been stuck between them, presumably an attempt to make him look pretty.

"You should see them in combat," Anakin said with a tiny smile. "You're tenth today, Warren."

"I can live with tenth," Warren decided after a moment taken to reach back and puck what he was pretty certain was a flower of some sort from where they had tucked it between his feathers. "And I think I'll leave the combat to them, if it's all the same. I'm not much of a fighter."

"They're fairly ferocious for a species that still uses spears and hasn't mastered space flight," Anakin replied.

"I kind of figured, by the way they managed to tie up half the class," Warren mused, smiling faintly as he did so. "I don't think technology really has much to do with ferocity, though, does it? I mean, people and animals are going to fight to survive, no matter what they have at their disposal."

At least being a mutant had given him a sort of basic understanding of that much. Watching the news at home had always left him feeling a little nauseous at the things that people like him were forced to do in order to stay alive.
