Bod had managed to get himself back to his room to shower before arriving for his shift at the library. While he figured he could have maybe arrived without showering, he wasn't so sure the books in this place wouldn't tell him that they disliked that.

It'd been a nice evening though, one he'd needed, which made his demeanor a little lighter and happier as he checked in books and shelved them. Even the constant pouring rain outside didn't bother him too much.

Jack was damp, though thankfully not dripping water all over the library floor. He shook the water out of his hair. His notebook had seen better days. "Can we go back to Egypt already?"

"If only the island took requests," Bod said, wincing sympathetically. "I don't think I've ever seen a rain this constant and driving. I'm surprised we haven't flooded yet."

"Do you think that could be a problem here?"

"I think it could be a problem anywhere if it rains enough," Bod said, shrugging. "The island probably has a good drainage system so we all don't have to swim to classes."

"I might invest in a life preserver just in case," Jack replied, only half serious. "It is too bad about the rain though. It's summer. We should be living it up with beach parties like yours and Kate's every weekend."

"I think that's more Kate than me and I'm sure she'll thank you for saying that," Bod said, smiling. "She was very happy about the turn out so if we end up some place warm again, I'm sure she'll be coerced into having another one."

"I hope this rain doesn't keep up too long. I'm starting to think it's always been raining and anything else was only a dream."

"I'm hopeful that the island will move again at some point," Bod decided, nodding. "This is the third time it's moved in a few weeks and I can't see it just stopping and settling. The rain has to bother it too, right?"

"It's a semi-sentient lump of land that doesn't follow the laws of physics or of any force of nature I know." Jack laughed. "I don't know. I keep expecting to wake up and find we're on Mars and I have to chase after Bobby to make sure he has a spacesuit on before he runs off to explore."

"That...would not surprise me," Bod said, scratching his cheeks. "The Mars thing, not your brother's excitement blinding him to safety. I hope we don't end up inside a volcano myself."

"Have a fear of volcanoes?" Jack asked. "I didn't, until you mentioned the possibility of ending up in one."

"It's not really a fear, I don't think," Bod said thoughtfully. "I'd just rather avoid something that extreme. It'd be interesting for about five minutes."

"I am completely on board for avoiding volcanoes. At least until the SAT is over. Probably even after then." The books tucked under his arm were indeed SAT study books.

"SAT?" Bod asked, raising an eyebrow. "I've heard of that test. Is it a required for your choice of university?"

"One of many." Jack sounded like someone who was getting tired of the whole college application process. "But probably the easiest to prepare for. Step by step books help." He gestured to his own books. "Figured I'd take advantage of the library and get some studying done."

Bod nodded. "It's a good place for that. Studying, I mean. I don't tend to make a lot of noise and the books are quiet today. I worry about the excessive rain causing the roof to leak but I think we're all right."
