Try Not to Die!! [Tuesday, May 24, 3rd period]

The city they were surrounded by reminded Anakin a bit of Coruscant (if with fewer flying speeders), and while the name of the class was Try Not to Die (with two exclamation points, sigh), he didn't really want to lose a student or three in the streets of Tokyo.

Which was why he'd given them all bright yellow rain slickers with tracking beacons sewed into the collars, just in case. He'd be able to find them regardless--the Force was useful this way--but this would give him a bit of a head start. That they looked like a group of yellow Skittles was immaterial.

"Welcome back," he said from under the hood of his (not yellow, thank you very much) Jedi robe. "Today your tasks have been set up throughout futuristic Japan. As you might be able to guess from the not-exactly-thrilled-to-see-you expressions on the faces of the people around us, this is a much more dangerous scenario than our last few weeks. Make smart decisions today, don't take off your rain coats, and try not to die."

With that useful bit of information imparted, he stepped away from the clue box.

Oh, no no no no no, Gabrielle was not driving, despite having taken driver's ed before; future Tokyo was too off-putting for that.

As for her singing voice . . . that was a dinar toss. Sometimes it was really bad, and other times when she got dubbed for musical episodes it was pretty good. The metaphorical dinar just happened to land in her favor on the fourth try, and she managed to pull off a decent enough rendition of "Love Is in the Air" to finally get off stage.

If given a choice between driving and singing, Annie was going to pick the karaoke. Because she could actually sing and didn't want to die. Unfortunately her taxi driver got lost on the way to the very specific karaoke bar, and by the time she got there, she was running behind. And maybe wondering if she was still beating Sam.

Luckily the crowd liked her rendition of "Looks Like We Made It" well enough, and she was pretty sure when she got back in a different taxi, that she at least wouldn't be last.

Still kind of pale and nauseous, there was no way Toby was feeling up for street racing. So, karaoke it was. Eventually his mediocre singing voice won him enough applause to get going (or maybe it was the man flashing a credit card at the hostess with an impatient look on his face) and he took off.

Lindsay was not a good driver. It wasn't something she admitted to anyone. She didn't really want to sing either, but it was a much safer choice for her. At least she had a decent enough voice to receive applause right away.

Angelica didn't know how to drive -- she hadn't taken any sort of driver's ed, at least -- so she opted for singing. It took awhile, however, for her to get enough nerve to get up on stage and perform "Could it be Magic (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6xBG_d-_6bc)" SHUT UP I love that song.
