Library, Wednesday (5/18)
She could keep herself as busy as she liked, exploring Alexandria and working on her scrolls, but beneath it all there had been (as had been the case for the past several weeks) an underlying sense of worry about what was going on in Panem. In the morning, Gabrielle dealt with it by reshelving all the returns and straightening out the shelves in the stacks to a near-obsessive level of detail.
When Professor Skywalker's message reached her phone around lunchtime, she hurried off to his office without stopping to think twice about it; the books would be all right without her for a little while.
By the time she returned to finish her shift, she was much more subdued, and opted to sit at the desk with her parchment and quill, scribbling away purposefully. She'd promised to tell a story, and tell it right; she'd better get started.
