BWI Portalocity Terminal [Saturday Morning]

Emma had flown with Angelica from Logan Airport in Boston to Baltimore so she wouldn't have to make the entire trip alone, and Angelica was grateful for that. But after a hug goodbye when the time came for Emma's flight back to Massachusetts, Angelica was alone in the lounge, waiting for the bus to Fandom High. She buried her face in a book and tried not to be too nervous about changing schools, counting out the positives. She might make new friends. Empath and Roulette wouldn't be there. She might accidentally fry someone with her microwave powers.

Oooookay, that last one wasn't too positive.

[Up early for SP! Please wait for OCD! The Ginger Express is now in service.]

"Well," said Butters, folding his arms in front of him expectantly, "like what then?"

"Like I'm not supposed to talk about it. It's not illegal or anything," and technically his dad hadn't said he was supposed to not talk about it. He just didn't think it was very prudent to run around telling people he was the god of fear, especially before he'd even gotten to the school.

"Well, why aren't you supposed to talk about it?" Butters inquired innocently.

"Because you wouldn't believe me. Or you'd think I was bragging. Or you'd be scared of me."

That last one was especially totally reasonable.

There was a slight, suspicious pause there, as Butters eyed Alex carefully.

He was pretty sure there was nothing Alex could say that would be any more unbelievable, bragging, or scary as anything he would hear from Eric Cartman.

"Try me."

"Okay. I'm the god of fear."

"Heh."

It started out as a little laugh, and then, as Butters thought about it, it began to build, into a little chuckle, until, finally, Butters really was outright laughing.

"Yeah, okay, sure, Alex," he said. "And Stan's the reincarnation of L. Ron Hubbard."

And then something seemed to strike Butters, and he stopped.

"Oh, wait. He was. But, still, Alex, why, you're not that scary at all! You just seem like...well, like any other old normal kid."

Alex had a couple of options here. He could turn on the creep-factor. Or he could do what he did: smile and say, "Well, I am. But I'm also Phobos," while using his powers to investigate what Butters was afraid of.

Not that it would be hard; the grounding thing was pretty obvious even without his powers.

But the powers did add the rather lovely image of how Butters truly saw his father (http://southparkstudios.mtvnimages.com/images/shows/southpark/vertical_video/import/season_11/sp_1112_04_m4.jpg?width=200).

Also, a sudden blip of Paris Hilton (http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_n7KNa4MQ6aU/TP6q1vdgkwI/AAAAAAAAAAQ/eP_F4A-h76o/s1600/paris-hilton-south-park-704946.jpg).

"But I thought you were Alex."

"I'm both." Inspiration struck. "Like you're Leopold Stotch and Butters."

This kid was so weird, but then, fears often were.

Okay, that certainly did put it into perspective a little bit more.

"I still don't think you're that scary," said Butters, who sounded pretty okay with that.

Especially since Alex's powers might also be giving him whiffs of Eric Cartman, who could make Hitler look like Gandhi.

"I'm not trying to be scary." Butters really didn't want him to try to be scary. "Yet."
