BWI Portalocity Terminal [Saturday Morning]

Emma had flown with Angelica from Logan Airport in Boston to Baltimore so she wouldn't have to make the entire trip alone, and Angelica was grateful for that. But after a hug goodbye when the time came for Emma's flight back to Massachusetts, Angelica was alone in the lounge, waiting for the bus to Fandom High. She buried her face in a book and tried not to be too nervous about changing schools, counting out the positives. She might make new friends. Empath and Roulette wouldn't be there. She might accidentally fry someone with her microwave powers.

Oooookay, that last one wasn't too positive.

[Up early for SP! Please wait for OCD! The Ginger Express is now in service.]

Damian scoffed. "It's a PSP. It's been out for years. It's practically primitive."

"PSP?" Freddie said, having not heard that before. "I don't remember Pear coming out with anything like that, is it a knockoff?"

Damian gave him a disgusted look. "No. I don't use knockoffs."

"Hey, I'm not judging," Freddie said, putting up his hands. "I just never heard of it before, and I'm normally really up on video game stuff. Well, not as much as I know about video equipment or sandpaper, but I have an interest."

"What's your interest in sandpaper?" Damian asked.

Oh, Damian, you possibly should not have asked that.

"Well, there's lots of different kinds," Freddie explained. "Like you can get 40 grit or 60 grit or even 80 grit. And if you really want to get fine they go up to 150 grit or even 200 grit."

You should probably stop him.

"Why would you need sandpaper that fine?" Damian asked.

"Oh, you know, fine wood polishing, metal buffing, that sort of thing," Freddie said. "Fascinating, isn't it?"

Yes, he was that weird of a nerd.

Damian eyed him. "I didn't realize this was a school for common laborers."

"Well given my friend Sam got sentenced to going here, I'm guessing it takes all kinds," Freddie said, just shrugging off the funny look.

Heck, the kid wasn't half as smug and superior as Nevel Papperman.

"This is a reform school?" Grayson was a dead man.

"If it is, my mom really went crazy," Freddie said. "But yeah, Sam got sent her instead of juvie. She kind of... dumped a smoothie on a cop's head. So maybe kind of a reform school?"
