BWI Portalocity Terminal [Saturday Morning]

Emma had flown with Angelica from Logan Airport in Boston to Baltimore so she wouldn't have to make the entire trip alone, and Angelica was grateful for that. But after a hug goodbye when the time came for Emma's flight back to Massachusetts, Angelica was alone in the lounge, waiting for the bus to Fandom High. She buried her face in a book and tried not to be too nervous about changing schools, counting out the positives. She might make new friends. Empath and Roulette wouldn't be there. She might accidentally fry someone with her microwave powers.

Oooookay, that last one wasn't too positive.

Yes, those were totally the important parts of that statement.

"Well they have it on each sheet so... I just look at maybe one or two words when I... Yeah, let's not go into further detail with this, shall we?"

"Fine," Sam might have sounded just a touch disappointed. She was a special one, she was. "Sam Puckett," she offered, since no one around here seemed to be recognizing her.

"Jack Carter," he offered back. Hey he even offered her a hand to shake because that's just his style. "From Eureka, Oregon."

"Never heard of it," Sam said cheerfully, giving his hand a firm shake. "Sounds like Beavecoon country."

"Well I don't think I'll find 'Beavecoon' on a roll of toilet paper," Jack chuckled, "But if it's what I think it means, then yes. It's cut off from the rest of the world."

And also top secret. Eh. Screw General Mansfield. This was all his fault anyway.

"Head of beaver, rump of racoon," Sam answered, giving Spencer's description for the thing. "It likes to hang out with Bigfoot." She nodded along with the rest of his description. "Sounds . . . quaint."

"Uh-huh," Jack said slowly. "And have you actually seen this... racoon rump thing? And if so there wouldn't have been a very strange Australian hanging about when you did?"

"Nah. My friend's brother has, though. And no Australians, just Bigfoot chasers."

A look of relief washed over Jack's face. Good. Last thing he needed was to go after one of Taggart's creations.

"Well you know if you have to chase something it might as well be a Bigfoot," Jack replied. "Because I've seen those storm chaser shows and that's just nuts."

"Yeah, except when you get caught in a giant snare trap." That Sam herself had laid, hoping to rope a deer.

"And you just happen to have snare traps lying around where you come from?"

"No, but I do have the stuff for making 'em lying around a lot."

"...You know you're just a tiny bit frightening," Jack said with a good deal of humor. "Did you know that?"

"I've been told." Mostly when she did things like knock out truckers with cartons of milk.
