BWI Portalocity Terminal [Saturday Morning]

Emma had flown with Angelica from Logan Airport in Boston to Baltimore so she wouldn't have to make the entire trip alone, and Angelica was grateful for that. But after a hug goodbye when the time came for Emma's flight back to Massachusetts, Angelica was alone in the lounge, waiting for the bus to Fandom High. She buried her face in a book and tried not to be too nervous about changing schools, counting out the positives. She might make new friends. Empath and Roulette wouldn't be there. She might accidentally fry someone with her microwave powers.

Oooookay, that last one wasn't too positive.

"Oh, well, everything except that sounds like it should be really cool," Alex assured her. "From my schedule, anyway. Except my dad signed me up for something about war crimes. He was really excited about it, of course, but Iiiii'm not so sure."

"War crimes and something about cupcakes? Like I said, my dad signed me up for it. I asked him what cupcakes have to do with war crimes but he said it didn't matter." Alex shrugged. "And I'm taking, um, hang on." Alex unzipped one of the pockets of his backpack and dug around until he found a piece of paper. "'How to Survive the Zombie Apocalypse' and--whoa."

"That's not really his style," Alex said doubtfully. "I mean, he could be, but he seemed really excited about the war crimes thing, and Nicholas said this school wasn't exactly, you know." He wondered how much Mercedes knew about it. 'For weird kids' might be too blunt. "He said it was sort of alternative?"
