BWI Portalocity Terminal [Saturday Morning]

Emma had flown with Angelica from Logan Airport in Boston to Baltimore so she wouldn't have to make the entire trip alone, and Angelica was grateful for that. But after a hug goodbye when the time came for Emma's flight back to Massachusetts, Angelica was alone in the lounge, waiting for the bus to Fandom High. She buried her face in a book and tried not to be too nervous about changing schools, counting out the positives. She might make new friends. Empath and Roulette wouldn't be there. She might accidentally fry someone with her microwave powers.

Oooookay, that last one wasn't too positive.

[Up early for SP! Please wait for OCD! The Ginger Express is now in service.]

"Since we're not in Canada, that would be pretty dumb," Jocelyn replied, arching an eyebrow in disdain.

Marshall gave her an odd look, mostly puzzled by the instant disdain. "Except for the part where they could buy it off me now, I could use the American money they buy it with to get a snack, and they'd still be able to exchange the Canadian back to American when they're near a bank. Total win-win."

"Or you could go down a level to the money changer and exchange it yourself and save all that win-win trouble for something else," she pointed out. Look, didn't everyone memorise the location of everywhere they'd been?

"Yeah, and then with my luck, I'd miss the shuttle while I was gone." He rolled his eyes. "Besides, if anyone here was willing to buy it off me, it totally would have saved me a trip!"

He paused. "Where, exactly, down a level?" It's not his fault he didn't memorise it! He didn't come that way!

"Down the second set of stairs to the right, turn left, go through the purple doors, past all the little restaurants and it's on the right," Jocelyn rattled off. "I can't tell you if you'll miss the shuttle or not."

Marshall considered that, and, with a glance at the time, figured he was probably safe. "Hey, if they start talking about leaving and I'm not back yet, think you could ask them to wait?"

She considered. Valentine wouldn't dream of it, but Valentine wasn't the one sent here to a mundie school. "I could probably do that," Jocelyn allowed, a half-smile crossing her face.

"Thanks!" Marshall offered a grin in return. "Want me to grab you something while I'm out there? I dunno, coffee, or whatever?"

"If you bring me coffee, I'll even make sure no one wanders off with your bag," she decided.

Marshall nodded and pulled a pen and a pad of paper out of his bag. "Cool, thanks. What can I get ya?"

He glanced around. "I should probably ask everyone else if they want something, too, I guess."

"I don't know...how many hands do you have?" she asked. "But coffee, just with sugar."

"Eh, I'll just get a few trays. I'm sure it won't be a problem."

He jotted down the order. "Oh, I'm Marshall. Should have said that before, sorry."

"You didn't do anything to me so there's nothing to apologise for," she pointed out. Honestly, mundanes. "I'm Jocelyn Fairchild. I'd offer to go with you, but then the whole deal falls apart."

Marshall nodded. "Yeah, exactly," he agreed. "I'm sure if there are enough orders I can convince someone to help me out, anyway." He gave a little mock-salute with the notepad. "Be back soon!"

"Or 'borrow' a luggage cart," she suggested innocently. "Good luck with the exchange rate!"

"Ugh," Marshall shot over his shoulder as he walked away. "Don't remind me!"

[... Because I am enough of a nerd to look up the exchange rate where Marshall's from, yes. He is totally in for an awesome surprise: exchange rate of 1.04 instead of 0.80, which it was in 2005.]

She chuckled as she shook her head. Of all the mundane things she was really, really happy never to have to do, changing money over was way up there.
