Fandom High Graduation Ceremony, Class of 2011, Saturday Early Evening - Part One!

The ceremony was once again held at sunset for the benefit of the graduates’ less diurnal guests, but the lawn was well-lit with twinkling blue and gold lights draped across bleachers, stage, surrounding trees and specially-assembled trellises, giving the overall effect of a peaceful fairy grove. (Not, say, Las Vegas. Tasteful twinkling lights.)

The staff having taken note of every previous graduation including the most recent, the lights had been purchased from Acme Decorations Studio with a money-back No Coming To Life And Terrorizing Your Party Guests Guarantee... and there was a rather large cache of weapons stashed in a trunk behind the podium. The chance that it would rain toys that could later be used for self-defense was slightly less than the chance that there would be a need for self-defense.

No one could say Fandom High wasn’t a learning experience.

Bobby was fully aware that this was not the Hank he knew, but he couldn't pass up a chance to say hi, so. Here he was, bounding over in Hank's direction with a cheerful grin.

"Hey!" he greeted.

Hank tilted his head as he studied the boy. "You are...familiar," he rumbled. "Who are you?"

"Bobby Drake," Bobby introduced himself. "Do you know another me? I know another you." Might as well get that one out of the way right away.

"Drake drake drake. A male duck or a dragon?" Hank asked, squinting at him. "Or have you not decided yet?"

It was there, itching at the back of his brain like all the other spiderwebs that Emma was helping him clear away. Maybe dissecting the boy would help, but Emma would frown about that.

"Neither," Bobby blinked. "Well, I had an old online screenname with dragon in it once...." he admitted. "Sometimes I turn in to a penguin."

Bobby would also frown on being dissected.
