Fandom High Graduation Ceremony, Class of 2011, Saturday Early Evening - Part One!

The ceremony was once again held at sunset for the benefit of the graduates’ less diurnal guests, but the lawn was well-lit with twinkling blue and gold lights draped across bleachers, stage, surrounding trees and specially-assembled trellises, giving the overall effect of a peaceful fairy grove. (Not, say, Las Vegas. Tasteful twinkling lights.)

The staff having taken note of every previous graduation including the most recent, the lights had been purchased from Acme Decorations Studio with a money-back No Coming To Life And Terrorizing Your Party Guests Guarantee... and there was a rather large cache of weapons stashed in a trunk behind the podium. The chance that it would rain toys that could later be used for self-defense was slightly less than the chance that there would be a need for self-defense.

No one could say Fandom High wasn’t a learning experience.

Momoko moved slowly to the stage, as she'd been instructed. Her bounce was totally still in effect, though and she beamed happily as she took her diploma.

Sure she was leaving the island and going back to Tokyo City, but she'd done it!!! She'd graduated!!

She gave the audience a quick V-sign before turned and skipping back to her seat.

"MOMOKO!! WOOOO!" Dinah was standing on her seat and clapping now.

Okay, Momoko had to turn and look for Dinah at that (who else could it be?) and give her sempai a cheery bouncy wave of her diploma.

Maybe it was not appropriate for a teacher to bounce and scream things like "WOO." But this was her little sib, so 'appropriate' could kiss right off.

Rikku's voice?!?!

Momoko's frenetic waving of the diploma at her big sib may have shown that she was wearing the armor Rikku had once made for her. It was totally her most favourite accessory ever!

Well, besides the garter holster currently holding her power compact.

Look, she'd been to Fandom High graduations before, okay?

Karla had prepared for the moment. As Momoko turned towards the audience, Karla held up a pair of balloon flamingos and waved them at her. "Congratulations!" she yelled.

Momoko stopped and stared for a moment before laughing hysterically and stumbling back to her seat. How she managed not to fall was anyone's guess.

She was totally going to have to plan hard for Karla's graduation.

There was a tiny green figure bouncing high in his seat, doing his best Muppet Penguin impression.

Francine flashed the V-sign back and called out, "For justice, puppies, love, and cupcakes!"

At least she got it mostly right?

The list of people Cally knew...or had even met... in the graduating class was rather short, but Momoko was on it, and thus the applause was stepped up from the polite clapping she gave to everyone, and she even got a laugh and a wave in reaction to the V-sign.

Jason very belatedly cheered and clapped for Momoko, excited to see her getting her turn across the stage.
