Fandom High Graduation Ceremony, Class of 2011, Saturday Early Evening - Part One!

The ceremony was once again held at sunset for the benefit of the graduates’ less diurnal guests, but the lawn was well-lit with twinkling blue and gold lights draped across bleachers, stage, surrounding trees and specially-assembled trellises, giving the overall effect of a peaceful fairy grove. (Not, say, Las Vegas. Tasteful twinkling lights.)

The staff having taken note of every previous graduation including the most recent, the lights had been purchased from Acme Decorations Studio with a money-back No Coming To Life And Terrorizing Your Party Guests Guarantee... and there was a rather large cache of weapons stashed in a trunk behind the podium. The chance that it would rain toys that could later be used for self-defense was slightly less than the chance that there would be a need for self-defense.

No one could say Fandom High wasn’t a learning experience.

Sookie strode over to grab her diploma, her face threatening to break in two from how widely she was smiling. As she took it, she held it up over her head with a grin, bouncing a little, and anyone with any telepathic sensitivity might have caught the "Eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!" she was projecting. Because yeah, right then, she was going to graduate with her shields down, just as she had entered high school.

Jason put two fingers in his mouth and let out a piercing whistle as she crossed the stage.

Heck, there had been a family back there with a synthesizer. He could make a little bit of noise, okay?

Eric wasn't the type to cheer loudly for...anything, really...but he clapped as Sookie crossed the stage and stopped thinking about eating the fairy in the crowd for a solid fifteen seconds.

There wasn't any way Sam wouldn't cheer for Sookie, but with that kind of reaction from her, he was going to just cheer louder for it.

Ordinarily, that high-pitched noise might have earned a wince from Karla, but right now she was too busy gleeing on her own. Instead, she dropped her shields, too, for a very loud, *YAY, SOOKIE!! YOU DIIIIIIIID IIIIIT!*

Rinoa wasn't telepathic, but the EEEEEEEEEEEEEE was a good guess from the way Sookie was grinning. And so she applauded wildly and bounced in her seat.

Squall applauded and smiled at her.

<<Well done, Miss Stackhouse,>> Emma sent warmly. <<Now that we're both official graduates, we should go buy new college girl outfits.>>

Jason cheered and clapped for Sookie. He didn't need to be telepathic to tell how excited she was.
