Library, Tuesday!

Rinoa was in a particularly good mood today. The pirate on the radio said that her marriage hadn't been legally binding, which meant she didn't need to worry about getting an annulment. Not that her wife wasn't lovely (and a good kisser) but Squall would probably be upset with her if she went off and got married.

She already had two of her three finals out of the way, so today, she was continuing her discovery of the works of Angelica Demesnes. More convinced than ever that some of these positions were completely physically impossible. But very hot, all the same.

Squall loomed up in front of her, with a strange look on his face. "Married?" he asked.

Rinoa did not look intimidated, no. She beamed at him.

Okay, maybe a little pang of guilt? But she had married Ramona and that meant it was totally okay to kiss her. Probably.

"You can't be mad at me," she reasoned. "I told you. You just didn't believe me, that's all. Were you really that sulky as a kid? I wanted to muss your hair up."

"Why would I be mad at you for something you did while Fandom had turned you into someone else?" Squall asked. "I just think it's silly." He shrugged. "And for the record, I believed you, I just didn't think it counted."

"It doesn't," she said, folding her arms and leaning on the circulation desk. "The pirate said so, on the radio this morning. But I didn't know that yesterday, when we went to talk about how to ... you know. Get un-married."

She was flushing, a little. "... And I kind of kissed her. That's okay, right?"

She'd been married. And Ramona was a hot girl, so ... logic said Squall would mostly be upset that he hadn't gotten to watch.

Squall frowned and glared at her. "No, it's NOT okay." She'd kissed someone else. That was beyond Not Okay. "Why would you think it was okay?"

Rinoa tilted her head at him.

"We were married," she said. "It felt weird to marry someone and not even kiss them. Besides, she's a girl."

"So? You kissed her."

"It wasn't like ... a thing," Rinoa said, still looking at Squall like there was something fundamental she was missing. "We ended our marriage and decided it'd be a shame not to at least kiss, so we did. It wasn't ... like I went off and kissed Seifer or anything."

"You still kissed someone else," Squall grumbled. Why wasn't she understanding? It was like she thought it didn't count, somehow.

"Because I married her," Rinoa repeated. "She was a girl. It's not ... something you should be getting jealous over."

Seriously? Did he think she liked girls like that? They were fun to kiss, but that was all.

Whether or not she liked girls like that didn't matter, did it? It was like she wasn't paying attention.

"I'm not jealous," Squall insisted. "I'm upset. You kissed her."

"Then ... I'm sorry," she said, biting her lip and looking down. "I was curious. She flirted and ... I figured you'd just be upset that you didn't get to watch. Guys don't usually ..."

Well, she didn't think Seifer would have minded. But that was mostly an excuse, and she knew it. She'd been curious, and it had seemed harmless, and ... it hadn't been. Dammit.

Squall shrugged. "I'm not most guys," he told her. "...Whatever. Just don't do it again."

"Are you mad?" she asked. "I mean, you ... can be mad, if you're mad."

It was okay. She probably deserved it. And she wasn't even going to pull the Princess trip and try to insist it wasn't her fault, for once.

"Yes, I'm mad," Squall told her. "I..." He sighed. "Whatever. You're not going to do it again?"

"I won't," she said, shaking her head. "I ... I don't know. It just seemed like something to do. I got all impulsive."

She was usually impulsive.

"I wouldn't have ... if she'd been a guy," she said, hoping that in some way explained the ... bizarre workings of her brain. Probably not.

"How is that any different?" Squall asked. Her brain wasn't bizarre; his was. Or maybe they both were.

Rinoa raised an eyebrow. "Because ... you know. Guys, it'd be ... like I wanted to date them instead of you. Girls are ... guys usually get turned on by that. It's ... different."

... wasn't it? She had kissed someone else, and she'd even enjoyed it.

"It doesn't seem any different to me," Squall told her, with a shrug. "Kissing is kissing."

You know what's awesome? Getting a sandwich at Panera, and getting the French onion soup, and then dipping the sandwich in the French onion soup.

Do they not have a Panera near you?? That is a SHAME.

I get the ham-and-swiss-on-rye, but I get it on French instead of rye, and I don't get anything on it except the ham and the swiss, which would be kind of dry by itself !BUT! not if you dip it into the french onion soup.

And I get a baguette, and then an extra baguette, so those go in the soup, too.

Plus I got a free pastry for my birthday so between that and the free wifi I think Panera is trying to make me psychically move in or something.

Oh, there is! I was there the other day! I may just be addicted to the French onion soup. Which is fabulous with the steak and white cheddar panini, by the way and then a frozen mocha and baguettes and now my leftovers for dinner feel inadequate.
