George was there on time this week.

"So, I've decided I care about shit, and want to ... I dunno, be a cheerleader," she said, in the same flat sarcastic tone as ever. "No, wait, I don't, that's an April Fool's joke, because somehow it's supposed to be funny to lie to people today. Because being a dick is somehow socially acceptable, so long as it's just today and you think it's really funny. What the fuck ever."

And that was all the more effort she was putting in to this sorry excuse for a holiday.

"It's April Fool's Day," George said. "Something about idiots and April and I heard once it had to do with people celebrating different New Year's, so it's really a racist and ethnocentric tradition that involves mocking people with different beliefs. And you play pranks on people and excuse yourself by saying it's April Fool's so that makes it okay to be an asshole."
