Friday Ethics Class #3, 8-10am

Two boxes sit on Tara's desk. One is filled with homemade cookies, with a small placard labelled 'To all those who attempted the assignment - help yourselves!'. The other is a bin to return the Master/slave badges at the end of the class.

Tara smiles as the students settle down.

"I told you last week that part of the point of this assignment was to separate out the issues of slavery and abuse. There are many, many issues with slavery, even without abusive elements attached, and I want to tell you how proud I am of all of you for attempting the assignment - especially those of you who were uncomfortable with it. I have a lot I want to say, but I'm going to bite my tongue and let you all speak, first. Tell me about your experiences with the assignment - what was challenging for you? What was easier than you thought it would be? Do you have any insights you would like to share?"

[ooc: If you would provide linkage to any RPed assignment bits and pieces, I would be forever grateful when it comes time for grading. Also, those of you who made icons? I adore you, and worship your icon-fu.]

Before class lets out, Tara makes a short announcement.

"I would not ask anything of you that I am unwilling to do myself - including act as a slave. Anyone who completed the assignment is eligible to 'win' me as a slave, under the same terms of the assignment as you performed. I realise many of you are probably glad that this is over, but if you are interested, or want revenge, please put your name down on the sheet provided. I will post this as a voting list, and the involved parties will decide as a class who is to Master me, and what is to be done with me."

[ooc: Off to bed. Play nicely, see you all in the morning. Um, my morning. *as usual, kicks stupid timezones*]

Faith turns in a paper that basically says "Kawalsky is the smartest, best partner ever. Give him as much credit as possible, please."

Since Phoebe and I are continuing the assignment, we'll wait until we're done for the evaluation.

Callisto's report makes mention of Angelus not defining a few things satisfactorily at the outset of the assignment, but is mostly high praise of his behavior as a master.

Rory turns in a paper telling how fantastic it was to have Chiana as a partner, in spite of the initial difficulties.

Parker glared over at Logan. "He flunks reading comprehension, since he was trying to get me to break Rule #6 from about the first minute. He also didn't take care of me emotionally or physically, since I wound up in the clinic (http://www.livejournal.com/community/fandom_clinic/32476.html) with a bleeding ulcer, and he sure as hell wasn't the one holding my hand. He did attempt to provide for me, physically, so he gets full points on that."

Her lips thin. "To be fair, I didn't tell him about the ulcer, but he didn't ask me *jack* about my needs, so, that was inevitable. We never got a safeword set up, because we were both too mad to think of one."

"On the plus side, I understand he staged a sit-in on the whole issue, so go him. And whoever had to deal with him as a 'slave' - hope it was fun for you, and wish I could've seen it. Echolls gets a D+ or C- from me because of that last move, instead of flunking."

Piper did her absolute best with me given that I was being a bigger pain in the ass than normal, just 'cause I could. She never even tried to hit me which is more than I can say for most of my C.O.s so she gets an A just for that. :)

Faith was the best master she could be considering the mission project parameters. She fulfilled all of the requirements of the project and I didn't have a problem with her at all. We came to an arrangement that suited us both for the week.

Parker was stubborn and refused to work with me. I presented terms to her and offered the chance to negotiate them, but she preferred to flip out in public instead.

Six was... paranoid. Strange guy. Had this weird stuff - anyway. Decent enough master, I suppose.
