CULTIVATION AND GARDENING

Last week, if you remember, a few of us planted our Amaryllis bulbs into pots and set them under some manufactured light sources, all this week I've been watering them and seeing them come to life.

After you planted your bulbs, what was your first thought of how they'd turn out? Do you expect them to grow wild and die within the week, or do you expect them to live and grow through out the season, blooming fully in the Spring time.

Bulbs will flower in 7-10 weeks as a general rule. In winter the flowering time will be longer than in spring.

Kiki grins. "Oooh! Mine's sprouted! That's a good sign, so I hope it will flower...maybe in time for Christmas."

"That's what I was hoping as well, Kiki. I hope that you'll have them in time to give them to loved ones as gifts." he smiles, "Good idea?"

Paige looks at her pot ((which in theory has nothing in it, since the mun didn't chose a bulb))

She sighs "nope nothing there, I probably put it in the wrong way round."

"I'll help you fix that, Paige." he rolls up his sleeves and stuffs his hands into her pot, he gently turned the bulb the right way up. "It'll sprout within the day." he assured her, looking at her annoyed state.

"I've never grown bulbs outside a conservatory," Wednesday admitted, checking her pot for any sign of growth.

Thomasina sets her potted bulb down on the workbench next to Wednesday's and checks the soil to make sure it's neither too dry nor too damp. Her bulb seems to be disinclined to grow quickly, however, so she decides to put a question to Wednesday, Do you know how quickly they're meant to start sending up shoots?

Rogue picks out an Apple Blossom bulb. "These are beautiful." She follows the planting instructions.

"Yes, those are gorgeous." he agrees as he watches her plant the bulb, marking it down as wonderfully done. "Bloody good job, Rogue. Real green thumb you have."

Lana carefully plants a Magnificent Blossom Peacock, Double Amaryllis Bulb.

She smiles at Professor Quayle. "Thank you for letting me join in your class. I really appreciate it."

"Beautiful choice there, Miss Lang, and what a bloody lovely job you did planting it." he marks that down with a smile, extra points awarded for her kindness.
