Getting Out of Tight Situations- Period 5- Class #9
Today class was going to look a little different. Blame the teacher's brain having very good reason to think back to stories she'd heard growing up. There weren't any big scary monsters around at the moment, as that gate was safely closed, but that would change.
"Welcome to a rancor pit," Jaina greeted them. "For those of you who don't know what a rancor is, you're going to find out in a minute. I'll also add the disclaimer that despite what you're going to see in here, I have a friend who insists they're just fine, and people ride them on one of her homeplanets. You tend not to find those particular rancors in places like this, though. You're going to face off against it one at a time, and you're able to use whatever you can find, whatever you have on you, or any powers you think you can use safely here. You have to either defeat it or get away, and if the rancor's going to win, the simulation will end and that'll be the end of your turn. Good luck."

Listen to the lecture/wait your turn

Re: Listen to the lecture/wait your turn
Maybe she could pass it off as dumb luck and resourcefulness? She wasn't exactly going to be flinging around Batarangs in there or anything.

Jake was pulling off his shirt and kicking off his shoes as he waited for his turn. The jeans would go, too. Shame, he liked those boxers.

It kind of made him wish he had set something up with sharks and bears last week, though.
Re: Listen to the lecture/wait your turn
She had no idea if any of the spells she knew would work, but she was going to try all of them.

Fight a rancor!
Re: Fight a rancor!
He had no special powers to avoid the creature, but he remembered the one from Dathomir. He managed to distract it for long enough to find a way out, but it got him in the end.
He'd probably spend the rest of the day flashing back to the Giant. Simulations. Most of his nightmares came from simulations.

Re: Fight a rancor!
As the gate in front of him opened, Jake changed quickly and moved towards the side of the gates. It was big, but Jake had speed and he instantly charge, snapping at the rancor's ankle and jumping back at once.
A while and a couple of throwns against the walls later, the rancor went down in a loud crash and Jake was a rather smug wolf.
Re: Fight a rancor!
Besides, he had no interest at all in getting lifted up by the thing to shove a bone in its mouth and get a big ol' dose of nasty rancor breath.
Sorry, Tenel Ka, they weren't that appealing.
Ben ended up leading the creature on a little chase (a very cramped little chase) before triggering the gate closed with the Force to crunch the rancor's head.
It was weird to think that that hadn't been his father's first instinct. Imagining his father so young that he didn't immediately reach for a solution with the Force was not something Ben was accustomed to doing.
Re: Fight a rancor!
Ha! Take THAT, you big disgusting rancor thing!
It'd taken a lot of yelping, ducking, scurrying, pitching rocks, diving, taunting the thing, and finally tricking it into charging her and running headfirst into the wall, but she'd gotten away.
And could probably, if anybody asked her, pass it off as new and fun practical applications of gymnastics and varsity softball experience. Whew.
Re: Fight a rancor!
"The bigger they are, the harder they blah blah blah, Bobby Drake is the best," he declared smugly, poking the unconscious hologram (could a hologram be unconscious?) with one foot.

Re: Fight a rancor!
This time, he had only his wits and the objects in his pockets. It was a longer fight, but same outcome: James 1, Giant Beastie 0.

Talk to Jaina
Re: Talk to Jaina
He was clearly spending way too much of his time around Skywalkers and Skywalker-derivatives.
