Teamwork 101 - Period 1 [Class #10] [Monday]
Rikku was bouncing on her toes as the students filed in. They should come to expect that. It happened a lot.
“So!” she said excitedly. “Last week, you looked over some charities. This week, first of all, each group has to tell us what charity you’re working towards. And if you guys didn’t make a decision for sure last week, then whoever speaks up first gets to pick the charity, so think fast!”
Reno grinned as he leaned back against the desk. He was totally the sedate one, balancing out the pair.
“If you don’t like what your teammate picks, we can have Nerf-bat battles or somethin’ on the grounds after class to settle it, yo. Your folks ain’t here anymore. We can get away with that kinda shit.” Reno was clearly the best role-model ever. “Whether you got your charity picked or not, this is the week you guys figure out how you’ll be raisin’ money for ‘em, though. You got plenty of options, at least. Gettin’ your hands on money around here ain’t all that difficult, compared to some places I’ve seen.”
“Right,” Rikku agreed, nodding to her co-teacher. “And raising money doesn’t have to be a drudge, either. There are lots of ways to do it. For one, you can offer a service, or some goods, like car washes or bake sales. Neither of those are things people need, but it’s stuff they might want, and if it’s for a good cause, they might jump at it. And both are cheap to set up, so you don’t have to worry about burning up all that money you’re trying to raise.”
She didn’t exactly recommend car washes here, considering that there really weren’t any cars. It was still a useful example.
“So,” Reno clapped his hands together and grinned at the class. “Pick out what sort of fundraiser you guys are gonna do, and start tacklin’ how you’re gonna go about makin’ it work, yo. You got plenty of freedom to go with, here. Trick is workin’ as a team to pull it all together.”

Re: Talk to the Teachers! - TEAM10
"So what were you thinking?" she asked. "It should be something fun. But not a bake sale. I don't do so well with baking."
She got bored. Recipes weren't written for people who got bored easily.
Re: Talk to the Teachers! - TEAM10
Yeah, that would do a lot of good.
"No sellin' shit. I say whatever it is we do, it's somethin' where we gotta earn our way out. One of them pledge-type deals. People give a certain amount, an' however much they give, we do more of... whatever."
Well-explained, Reno. Well-explained.
