Adventures, Capers and Escapes - Danger Shop, Thursday, Period 3

The Danger Shop looked like a museum today. Thankfully, there were no dinosaurs in sight, not even herbivores. "Excellent work on not getting yourself eaten last week. Bonus points to those of you who have violent tendencies for not killing anything. That is, as always, most appreciated. Now!" He pointed at the centrepiece of the room. "That is the Third Diamond of the Tsar of Halphageus Four. Not to be confused by the Fourth Diamond of the Tsar of Halphageus Three, which is only good for use as a paperweight. It holds down paper very well.

You're going to steal it. Borrow!" the Doctor corrected himself. "I meant borrow." He stopped again, then confessed. "No, I meant steal. The Third Diamond of the Tsar of Halphageus Four is a very useful power source that can fuel a device that will save your world and everyone on it, provided you can get retrieve it after hours without museum security noticing. Museums don't like their things taken, even if they are taken by the person the ancient messages are addressed to. Group work! Pairs, trios, quartets. I don't care as long as you're scheming with someone not inside your own head. After hours, low profile, heavy security on the case and the diamond itself. Figure out your way in and your way out with the diamond. You have the hour."

Skill at ambushes or hunting aside, this particular kind of stealth...was not exactly Cara's strong suit. Which meant she was leaning awkwardly against the nearest wall.

Oh, the Doctor wanted Ariel to borrow something, did he? Piece of cake! Ariel considered herself an expert at that, even if she was more used to stealing things because people weren't paying attention more than something like this.

Well, there was avoiding sharks...

"So," Ariel sidled up to Cara and lowered her voice, "distraction? Or should we just go for it and see what happens?"
wrongkindofsith: (Pimping pretty pink princess style)

"Would this distraction involve costumes of some sort?" Cara asked warily. Over a year later and she still hadn't forgiven Zedd for that.

Ariel's eyebrows lifted, as if a light in her head wanted to illuminate, but it might not quite yet have the power. "Oh!" she said. "I didn't think of that. Do you think it should?"
wrongkindofsith: (We need to talk)

Re: Group Work!

[personal profile] wrongkindofsith 2011-03-10 11:28 pm (UTC)(link)
No, Cara did not. Especially when said costumes involved lace and skirts. "I think it would attract too much notice."

Because skin-tight red leather wasn't at all noticeable or memorable.

"Hmmmm," Ariel's eyes narrowed as she thought that over. "I guess that would depend on the kind of costume, but we probably don't have a lot of access to costumes right now, anyway..."

She sounded terribly disappointed, though.

"That's too bad." Cara, on the other hand, did not sound terribly disappointed.

"I think we just snatch it and run," Ariel reasoned. "What's the worst that could happen?"

Cara considered the possibilities, then decided it would probably not be helpful to actually answer that question. "Sounds simple enough."

"So," Ariel continued, "one of us can grab it and run and the other can mess up anyone who tries to stop us! Can I grab it and run? Please?"
wrongkindofsith: (How you doin?)

Claudia looked around for a sucker someone who might be good at dangling from the ceiling like in the big heist movies. She could probably work the security computers, but no way was she doing any ceiling dangling.

Robin could dangle from the ceiling with the best of them.

"Hi Claudia, need a partner?"

"Yeah, 'cause, you know, that's totally what we need to steal a diamond."

Claudia totally didn't catch the "not kidding" thing.

Robin wasn't sure yet how that would work. Maybe they could blind the cameras with the eggs. But where did the bacon fit in?

"Cause we don't want to try this on an empty stomach?" he guessed.

"We've got an hour. It's not super-quick to cook."

"Hmm, good point. Something faster. Like hotpockets maybe." There were bacon and eggs hot pockets right? And if not there should be.

"Yeah -- No. How did we get to talking about food? We're hear to steal a diamond."

She was just lucky he hadn't run off and returned with provisions.

"Right, the diamond. Any ideas?"

"I can probably handle the computer work. But I need to know what kind of B&E related experience you have."

Here they went again.

Helen looked around for someone to plot with.

Hank looked at the diamond thoughtfully while also searching for a partner.

"Obviously, we can't use a foolproof plan," he reasoned out loud, "because the guards are probably pretty smart. What we'll need to do is come up with something they'll never expect..."
