This week, Reno had seemingly recovered from whatever pet-induced trauma he had suffered the week before. By his side was a short, badly-dressed blonde girl.

“Hiya!” she chirped. “I’m Rikku. I teach Science here at the school. I’m also gonna be helping Reno out with class. Pleased ta meetcha.”

Reno looked pretty damn pleased. His girl helping out with class? Hell yes.

“This week, we’re gonna start doin’ things a little different, yo,” Reno said, grinning around the room as he leaned back against his desk. “Rikku and I got a plan to get you guys doin’ some important shit for, you know... people.”

Reno was awesome at communicating, shut up.

“We’re gonna break you off into three groups, yo. Your mission, whether you choose to accept it or not, is to pick a charity, an’ start brainstormin’ on ways to fundraise so that you can donate to ‘em, yo.”

“It’ll be fun,” Rikku bounced. “And it’s gonna help people, and that’s never bad, you know? And we’ll have some ideas on common fundraisers and so on next week, I mean, you don’t have to have the money by tomorrow or anything. This week, you’re getting into your groups, deciding on a charity, and talking out some ideas on what you might want to do. We’ve got some pamphlets from some charities here. If you all disagree, then you’ll need to be better at persuasion than the other members of your group. Or you’d better all learn how to compromise!”

Rikku was now going to start passing out the pamphlets. Because she liked pamphlets, and she had grabbed entirely too many, anyway.

“Let us know at the beginning of next class what kinda charity you guys went an’ settled on,” Reno said, smirking a little. “You’ll be pickin’ your fundraiser next week, but if you got ideas for that now, you’re welcome to throw your ideas around. Now, get to it, yo.”

Or you can come up with your own, although we ask that you step carefully -- we were hoping to avoid anything that might be political or raise issues OOC. (I.e., a well-meaning fundraiser for sufferers of dysentery might be hard if a classmate’s player just lost their second cousin to dysentery.)

All of the charities looked worthwhile. Squall spent some time wondering how exactly "Doctors Without Borders" abbreviated to MSF, though. It wasn't his fault that he was from a world without French!

Karla was pouring over the pamphlets. None of these were the charities that the sorority had chosen, so there was a lot to learn about them before deciding.

Chloe was also going through the pamphlets, though she was liking the one for animals.

Effy Stonem, Momoko Akatsutsumi, and Triela!

Yeaaah, the last time Effy had needed to raise money for something she'd nabbed and sold her brother's meds to get it (ethics... were not her strong point). That might not be the way to go for this.

She was at least thinking on the task while she flicked through the pamphlets, though.

"Hi!" Momoko moved closer to her teammates. "Any ideas? I totally like all of them, especially toys for hospitals."

Jason Todd, Squall Leonhart, and Wesley Wyndham-Pryce!

Squall pulled a pile of gold coins out of his pocket and plopped them down. "Funds raised. What next?"

"Uh," Jason started, staring at the coins. "That's admirable, but I think the point of fundraising is to get other people to give money, not to just give all of your money away."

"Other people can chip in, too," Squall pointed out. "I have no problem with that."

Plus, it didn't involve a carnival or bake sale or something stupid like that.

Both of whom are in the same group. Which was an accident of the alphabet.

When she wasn't in her group, Karla was brainstorming ideas for fundraising.

Right now, her top idea was 'bake sale.'

Someone stop the madness.

Chloe was sitting, taking her own notes.

'Old' was here, too. But he'd probably give you weird looks if you went and called him that to his face.

Like, really weird looks. He was only going on two years graduated at the end of this semester, himself.

Aaaaallllll the caffeine, please. And maybe some Tylenol for this sore neck headache that I got from trying to crash out on my keyboard, then computer desk, then floor, then school loveseat, respectively.
