Classrooms Around Campus, All Day Saturday

It was Saturday, and that meant Career Day! Unbeknownst to all the students who had taken the career placement test, Fandom had apparently conspired to place them all in workshops that didn't quite fit the answers they gave for their tests. The island was tricky that way. Not to mention that the workshops that the island had planned were somewhat different from the workshops an ordinary school might offer on Career Day. As in quite a lot different.

So the classrooms all around the school were filled with visitors from off-island and island alike, all of whom had been led to believe that they would be teaching eager-minded groups of students, excited to learn about their prospective care
ers. This assumption was not necessarily accurate.

Boba Fett was, in general, not known for his amazing oratory powers, so there was an increasingly awkward silence as a man in a helmet he wasn't going to take off stared at the students sitting before him.

He recognized some of them. Creepy.

Finally, when the silence had stretched well past "awkward" and into "dear God, can this guy even talk?" he began.

By shooting a wire around Ben Skywalker and strapping him down into his chair.

"HEY!" Ben protested, glaring.

"Bounty hunters are more efficient than Jedi," Boba proclaimed in a New Zealand Mandolorian accent that came and went as he spoke, "because we are not overly burdened by morality."

Another awkward pause.

"And we get paid. And aren't arrogant and superior and expecting the galaxy to fall into place just because we want it to."

For Boba this was a pretty long speech.

"Be a Bounty Hunter," he finished a little lamely, "Because shooting is better than talking any day."

"Don't even think about shooting me," Ben added, glaring.

Boba ignored him. "Questions?"

Leia hadn't really intended to sign up for any of the career workshops because her path had already been laid out. But the title of this one had caught her eye, of course, so she had to investigate.

She was not amused.

"If you aren't 'burdened by morality,'" she scoffed, "then who would bother to hire you when you can simply be bought out by a higher bidder?"

"That's why they pay me a lot of credits up front," Boba replied.

"And money is all you care for?" Leia said. "You wouldn't care if it meant killing children and innocent people, so long as you collect your payment?"

"Yes," Boba replied.

Hank didn't have a question! He was going to rescue Ben!

Which he did by shouting "judo chop!" before he'd even stood up, and then tripping over his chair and falling face-first on the floor.

"...I think I broke my pinky toe."

Boba stared at him quietly for a long moment.

"Don't become a bounty hunter," he declared. "Ever."

Although he was still lying in pain on the floor, Hank crossed his arms and pouted at Boba Fett. "Maybe I will," he announced, just to be contrary. "And when I do, I'm not gonna be such a meaniehead about it!"

There was a pause as Boba debated the idea of killing the boy then and there, and decided that he couldn't do it for free.

"If someone would pay me a bounty, I will dispatch this person now," he said.

See kids? It's an interactive seminar!

Okay, after watching that little show, Nico thought maybe this whole career fair wasn't so bad as expected.

'Just say no to morality' and 'shoot things rather than wasting time with words' was possibly some of the best advice he'd gotten this year. Maybe once he was done with school he'd consider taking a bounty or two.

"Do I get to get out of this yet?" Ben demanded without raising his hand (since they were still strapped against his chest. Stupid Boba Fett).

"No."

Skywalkers and their arrogance. Hmph.

Momoko had been impressed by the wire-work. She wondered if it was something he could show her since it seemed much faster than her own yo-yo lassoing trick.

But she had a more important question: "Is that the standard uniform for Bounty Hunters? Because it's totally not cute." Not that she wanted to become one, being a Hero of Justice and therefore totally overburdened with morality.

Pause.

Loooooooooooooong pause.

Then finally: "...cute?"

Momoko nodded. "Cute! Like, different colours, maybe? Some artwork? A skirt? ... Oh, well, not for you, unless you wanted to wear one."

She pinched her lip and looked him over. "But for you, I'd totally suggest at least buffing out some of the dings and maybe polish? Touch up some paint? How do you get any jobs looking like that?" Her face implied that probably it was pity that got the man enough jobs to keep himself fed.

If he ate.

"This is how they know I've been working for a long time," Boba replied, sounding a little confused. "I've always worn this."

There could be have been a whole spiel here about the Mandolorian warrior mentality and how it was reflected in the armor they wore but the player had zoned out during that part of the book Boba wasn't the over share-y type.

Oh, human morality.

"And how does one become a bounty hunter?" she asked. Since the war was tentatively over and there wasn't much call for a soldier anymore.

Oh, a Guild. "I don't believe they have any of those where I'm from. Though they do manage to have one for Fools..."

Yeah.

"What are the licensing requirements? What strictures are there on the weapons you carry, including wires? Are there any difficulties in transporting people from different jurisdictions?"

Scully gave him a very jaundiced look, and gave off a very Junior Prosecutor vibe.

"And while we're at it, sir, what are your qualifications for being in this line of work, aside from an apparently absent sense of morality and the ability to shoot straight?"

Finally: "I will also shoot this one if someone will pay me."

That's it, encourage her inner (and outer) sixteen-year-old, Boba. Instead of her inner 36-year-old.

"So you're a killer for hire, and you don't care about who you hurt," she said, abhorred.
