Library, Monday

No children had shown up for William this weekend. He was... unsure how he felt about that, actually. The only children he'd ever dealt with were the younger ones at the orphanage, and that responsibility mostly extended to defending them- often physically- from being bullied by others.

He'd quietly done some research on the sudden appearance of children in Fandom, though, and had learned that they were presentations of a myraid of possible futures. It might have been comforting to know that somewhere, he hadn't made the same mistakes that his father had. Unless of course he had, and any potential children who chose to appear resented him...

Maybe it was for the best that no one had showed. He was just going to keep telling himself that.

Rilla was vacillating between being Quite Smug that she was not a teenage mother, thank you, and being terrified that this meant she somehow ended up an old maid.

Thus the trip to see William to improve her spirits. "Hello!"

"Much less frazzled looking than many of our classmates," Rilla replied with a little smile. "And you?"

"...it feels a little lonesome?" Rilla replied.

"Perhaps in the form of a postcard," Rilla said. "These children are quite...rambunctious. I'd like to think mine would be more behaved."

Rilla was not going to fib, though she was certainly tempted. "It was a very short one," she said. "I was a quiet child. Mary Vance was loud enough for several children."

"She is more friendly with my older brothers and sisters than she is with me," Rilla said, "which I don't really mind."

Rilla and Mary weren't ever going to be particularly intimate friends.

"I do," Rilla admitted. "I'm a dedicated correspondent, but it's really not the same. My sisters are heading into midterm examinations, so their letters are more like notes right now, and Jem's handwriting is practically illegible. I will try to get home for at least part of the summer--they'll all be at home then."

[OOC: Not a problem at all! This week has been super insane for me too.]

The influx of children made Henry happy he'd seen Alba not even a week before. He set a plate of heart-shaped cookies out for anyone who might want one, but otherwise he intended to ignore the holiday as well as the kids.
