Study Hall -- Thursday, October 27th

As usual, Sarah sits in front of the room -- however, she's now taken to watching everybody who comes into the room with an unusually close eye and scribbling down something in her notebook in an ominous way.

In honor of the upcoming Halloween holiday, there's a small cauldron full of candy on her desk, and the puppies lie in a basket next to the desk all wearing little orange bows around their necks.

"Thanks and I don't think I've ever really thought of a building as sexy. I suppose it would be pretty cool though. The walls don't sing opera at you like they do in the commercials right?

And I think I know who my secret whiteboard-defacing admirer is.

"It's like living artwork," Angelus said. "The fountain alone is worth the price of admission. And who is it? Jealous ex-girlfriend?"

"Never was much of an architechture enthusiast I guess.

Try Martin Blank. And whereas I totally never did a thing with Draco, The idea of Blank being my girlfriend is enough to put me off sex for life."

"What in the hell does Marty think he's got on you?" Angelus asked. "Or is he just posturing again?"

"Oh he thinks he's got something," Jonathan tells him rolling his eyes, "Most notably since apparently Callisto ratted me out. But what he actually has is squat. Really he has less than squat. He's got suppositions, the vague recollections of stoner drug dealers and possibly Callisto's word against mine. I don't really think Callisto's dumb enough to actually say anything to official channels so he has no evidence, no facts and no proof."

"Marty does seem to be a master of biting off more than he can chew," Angelus put his hands behind his head, leaning back in his chair. "Some day that boy's going to find himself in a mess of trouble, especially if he tries that trick on folks who aren't as nice about false accusations as you or I am."

"Really, it makes you think he'll come to a bad end.

As far as I'm concerned this thing with Blank is win/win. Either he realizes that even the Enquirer would have trouble printing a story this full of holes and doesn't say anything or he decides his charm and personality is enough to sway any naysayers and does come forward.

If the former, then I think the good there is obvious. If the latter, it just looks like 'the in crowd' trying to make JA look bad yet again. Only this time with 75% less actual facts and seeing as they had nothing on you they come out (once again) looking stupid."

"Well why bother with facts when lies serve your purpose so much better?" Angelus asked, rhetorically. "Which is something about the so-called forces of good that I've never been able to understand. I've certainly never had a problem getting the results I've wanted by using the truth."

"What is it with these people?" Jonathan asks, manners failing him for once. He looks annoyed, "And worst of all he practically interogated me in the middle of science club. Lisa was right there and he's doing his best Inspector Clousseu impression."

"Tell him to fuck off," Angelus said. "He's not the cops. He's got no jurisdisction over you. If he really gives you a hassle sic Lilah on him. He wants to play with the law, he can play with our lawyer."

"I was trying to play it cool though I think I came off as fairly naive. If he tries anything else I might just do that. I just, I hate being angry and Blank is seriously pissing me off. That stupid whiteboard comment and now this. He's not even in Science Club. He was just there to scare some information out of me.

If Lisa heard, she's totally not going to let it go is she?" Jonathan asks Angelus, eyes wide.

"I admit I don't know what Lisa would do," Angelus said. "But whatever happens it's nothing that can't be taken care of. These are petty people bothering you with petty problems. It's not in their power to bring you down."

"Yeah, I get that. Although I've got to admit that Blank's hypocrisy is what's really setting me off. I mean, no one in JA was trying to investigate him when he tells us all 'oh by the way I'm a contract killer'. Suddenly he's sleeping with that hot redhead and it's goodbye to courteousy.

Speaking of hot red heads, why did you invite Lily Evans to Vegas with us?"

"Because she's Draco's girlfriend and she helped me come up with the idea," Angelus said. "Why? You don't like her?"

Jonathan looks at the table and lets out a deep breath.

"Okay, so Lily is my best friend's girl right? And she's spending a lot of time in our room lately and it's become abundantly clear that she really doesn't like me. And not in a completely understandable, 'youtotallyhadsexwithmyboyfriend' kind of way. More in the, 'fornoreasonatallI'mnotcomfortablebeinginyourgeneralpresence' kind of way. So where as I wouldn't say I dislike her, I would say that an entire weekend of akwardly trying to avoid my best friend and his girlfriend while on a vacation where I'm supposed to be having fun with them does strike me as somewhat of a damper."

"I get that," Angelus reached over to put his arm around Johnny's shoulders. "But, Jon, do not worry about it. Look, when you've got the guys with the regular chicks you've got to bring them along or else there's pouting. But that doesn't mean bachelors like us are going to be stuck with the babysitting. Four days. Believe me when I say we'll find ways to mix it up, if for no other reason than four days of mortal romantic poetic poetry crap will send me right out into that hot Nevada sun and there isn't anyone who'll be able to stop me."

"Okay then, as long as it's not all uncomfortable silences and Lily never meeting my eyes.

Of course, that's assuming they're still together after Parents Weekend."
