There was no doubt that Ariel was definitely excited to have Glee Club start up again; you could see it not only in the spread of drinks and snacks she had ready, but the fact that she'd gotten there really early to get it all set up and play a little bit of piano to make sure it was in tune as if she knew how to actually tune a piano ~~but she could tuna fish!~~. But, eventually, hopefully, people would start showing up and then she could get things started.

"Hi, everyone!" Ariel veritably bounced at them as she waved. "Welcome back to Glee Club, unless you're new, in which case, regular welcome! It's the first day back after the break, so all we're going to do today is a little bit of singing and a little bit of talking about what we'd like to do this semester. Do we want to do another performance? Should we maybe look into some competitions? Have a karaoke night at Caristas? Anything in particular you'd like to sing more of this semester? All that kind of stuff! But first!

"Singing! Just like last time, let's each introduce ourselves through song! Let everyone know who you are, why you're here, and then pick a song, any song at all, that you'd like to sing. It could tell something about you, or be your favorite song, or even just be the song you had stuck in your head when you woke up this morning. Anything you want! Who wants to go first?"

"I kind of liked the blizzard, too, actually," Ariel admitted with a laugh. "Nothing a fort, a lot of blankets, and some extra layers couldn't fix."

"Forts can solve a lot of problems," Ellie said, chuckling slightly. "It's true."

Ariel bit her lip a little at that, blushing, because one of the more useful uses for forts was something she probably couldn't just out and tell Ellie about, considering it involved kissing her brother.

"Very useful things, yeah," she went with instead. "Can't go wrong with a fort!"

Yeah, that was probably information Ellie didn't need to know.

"Reminds me of when Chuck and I were younger, and I would set up a tent in the backyard so he could pretend to go camping," she explained. "Not quite the same as a fort, but the same intent was there, I think."

Not quite the same intent...

Still, that was adorable. "Awww! My sisters weren't usually up to things like camping, but I had my friend Flounder for that! He's basically like a brother I never had."

Right down to the fact that Flounder didn't exactly want to go, either, but...

"I'm not really into it myself," Ellie admitted. "But Chuck wanted to try it. I was only about eleven or twelve at the time. The backyard was the best I could do."

"Did you guys have a big backyard?" Ariel asked. "Or was it a smaller one, so you really had to stretch your imagination?"

"It was on the smaller side," Ellie replied. "So yeah, we had to imagine there were bears and things. At least the s'mores were real."

"Mmmm, s'mores are definitely worth it," Ariel said with a dreamy smile. "I do miss those. I never had anything like s'mores back home, so that's another reason to love it here. Out of, you know, a million."

"I'm glad you get to be here, then, to discover these things," Ellie said sincerely.

"Me, too," Ariel said enthusiastically. "There's so much this place has to offer; I'm really lucky to be here, you know?"

Ellie smiled at that. "Well, like I said, I'm glad you're here. And I'm sure my brother feels the same."

Any attempts to pretend to be aloof on that particular went right out the window, defenestrated entirely by a light of eagerness.

"Really?" Ariel asked, despite herself. "You think so?"

And then, realizing that she might have sounded a bit excited, she thought about trying to cover it up, but realized it was probably too late and just sort of blushed and bit her lip.

Good thing Ellie thought it was adorable. Smiling, she said, "I definitely think so."

Ariel cleared her throat a little, in a very poor attempt to try to keep from being too bouncy, but it mostly just left her beaming.

"Well, that's good, then," she said, thinking herself on the way to a decent cover. "I mean, Chuck's a really great guy, and you're really great, too, Ellie, so I know I'm glad to have had the chance to meet you both."

...eeeeeeeeee.

"You're a good friend, Ariel."

And hey, Ellie was happy for her brother. She thought this whole thing was very sweet.

Even without the whole Chuck thing, with the week Ariel had been having, it was good to hear something like that, and Ariel blushed again, though she beamed right through it.

"Thanks, Ellie. You, too! I mean it!"

Ellie just nodded, believing Ariel's sincerity. There was absolutely no reason not to.
