Library (1/27)

There was an annoyed witchling standing at a table in the library. On the table in front of her were two different groups of books with shields around them.

Apparently, at some point, the Yoga books had staged an uprising, believing that they should be shelved with the Martial Arts books. The Martial Arts books did not agree with this and had taken to violently flinging the Yoga books off of their shelves.

After a few moments of shock from having walked into this, Cassidy had taken matters into her own hands and trapped them on opposite ends of the table with her shields.

"This is unacceptable behavior for books of any kind to indulge in. You had better start behaving or I promise I will shelve you all in the darkest corner I can find and mislabel your shelves so no one will ever look for you again." Both armies of books turned their covers to face Cassidy in what could only be their attempt at a menacing fashion. She lifted an eyebrow. "Don't even think about it. If I have to, I will cast cold spells on all of you." She smiled sweetly. "It won't do any damage to your covers, pages or ink, but it will certainly make you think twice before attempting to attack your caretakers ever again."

The library was open.

"The books are fighting."

Thank you for that brilliant observation, Henry. Clearly it took all your years of training.

"That ... is actually a new one."

"I would call that an excellent use of magic," Henry said approvingly, as he tilted his head to try to read the covers. "Do you know what started the whole thing?"

"I never knew books could move before I took this job," Henry confided. "Wonder why the yoga started it. You'd think yoga books would be into nonviolence."

Henry blinked, then straightened his spine precisely and lifted one foot so it was propped against the opposite thigh. "Vrksasana (http://www.yogajournal.com/poses/496)," he said. "Tree pose. This would be yoga. It's a series of exercises developed in India and imported to the Western world about a hundred years back."

His foot came back to the ground. "It's good exercise, and some people say it helps them focus."

"Do you exercise at all?" Henry asked. "It probably works for them the way running works for me. There';s just nothing else, when you're doing it."

"So you understand the basics," Henry said. "Just maybe not the" -- he realized he couldn't say woo-woo to a witch -- "details of the philosophy. You should read something if you want to know more. I only know the basics."

He anxiously glanced to the books, hoping the conversation hadn't inspired them to stage a new rebellion.

"I appreciate your fierceness," Henry grinned. "Thanks for looking out for the books."
