There was organizing to be done, so Wesley was doing it. And he was definitely not reading a book about how to talk to girls. Nope. Not even a little bit.

Jeremy's grin might be celebrating his discovery of the library, but his voice most definitely did not. True, it was a rare occasion when someone actually came to the library, but that didn't negate the fact that library voices were meant to be, well, library-ish. As in quiet.

"Hello," he said, making a point to speak quietly. "Jeremy, yes?"

Oh, right. The one who thought he was famous. Oops.

Hey, Jeremy was totally famous! ...Just only in his own universe. That was sad.

But he wasn't. He was sadly also not very good at taking subtle hints, but at least he lowered his volume to a normal conversation level once he came up to the desk. "That's me," he said, still grinning. He glanced around. "So, this is the library, huh?"

"It is," Wes agreed. Then he promptly scrambled to conceal the book that he was reading, because that was embarrassing. 151 Ways To Get A Second Date? Not the most professional-looking text. Also, it was bright purple.

"Were you looking for anything in particular?"

"Space, man," Jeremy said, but his eyes were drawn to what the other boy was trying to hide. "What's that?"

It was purple, Wesley. There was no way that would escape Jeremy's notice.

"The astrology section's just over there," Wes said, gesturing.

Then, blushing: "This is, ah, it's a book." Yeah, Wes? Really? "I was just, er, checking to see what section it belongs in..."

"Oh yeah? A book about what?"

And yes, this would be where Jeremy was leaning in to try and catch a glimpse of the title, all thoughts of planets and solar systems momentarily forgotten.

Well. This was embarrassing. Even though Wes didn't have any good embarrassed icons, damn.

Reluctantly holding up the book, Wesley replied, "It appears to be, ah, advice on how to talk to girls. Or... boys."

Because hello, it was purple.

Jeremy gave the book a distinctly confused look. "They write books about that?"

He was Jeremy Darling: it wasn't like he needed advice when just the mention of his name would get him most girls he wanted. Back home, anyway.

"Er. Apparently," Wes said, trying to act all surprised. Actually, it came out kind of flustered and embarrassed. Fail.

"I'll just, er, go ahead and shelve this later, then," he said unconvincingly, shoving it back into a drawer.

Even someone as generally oblivious as Jeremy could see through that. His eyes lingered on the drawer for a moment more, but then he shrugged, as if it wasn't his place to wonder.

"So. Astronomy?"

"Right over there," Wesley replied, grateful for the change in subject. He gestured over to the science section. "Second shelf you come to. Right between physics and gremlin psychology."
