Hook's time spent reading the Danger Shop instructions had paid off. Today's class met inside that wonderous room of programmable places, where Hook had created a simple replica of a three masted vessel.

He had a series of handouts for the students, showing illustrations of various knots.

"Today we're going over that staple of seamanship," Hook declared, after the handouts were passed among the students. "Knots. Rope is very important, very important indeed for the average ship. And before we can go into things such as rigging and nets and so forth, you need to learn the basic knots. For practice today, and for a bit of fun, we're going to split into pairs. You'll practice tying your partner to something on the ship. A mast, the wheel, the anchor, something. The idea is to use a knot that you think will hold them tightly. The partner then, of course, is to try and break free. If your partner fails to break free, then bravo. Midway through the time of the class, please untie your partner if they've not already obtained their freedom, then switch places as to who is being tied to what."

Hook chuckled. "And no, no one is allowed to tie me to anything."

He snapped his fingers. "Chop chop, get to it, that's a good crew. It's all very self explanatory. Yo ho and all that."

"I think it's movement," Jason said, which was why he kept looking like he was struggling as he loosened the other side of the rope and kept hold of it so it wouldn't fall. "I don't know if this is going to work."

"No? I thought for sure you'd be good at this. Maybe you need that belt thing," he suggested, reaching out to mess with Jason's hair while he was seemingly unable to defend himself.

Jason had been planning on keeping quiet longer, but not with Nico messing with his hair. As soon as Nico touched him, he reached up to grab Nico's wrist, keeping the rope in his other hand. "Or maybe I don't."

Surprised, Nico flinched at Jason's movement, finding his wrist suddenly trapped. "Di immortales, Jay!"

Jason couldn't help it as he started to laugh. "Wow, I made you stop speaking English. I am good."

"You mean cocky," Nico groused at Jason's laughter, trying to twist his hand to grab at Jason's wrist. "I was just surprised."

"You'd be cocky too if you were as awesome as me," Jason said, letting go of Nico's wrist so Nico could grab him.

"I could deny your awesomeness, but really you're kind of hot when you get all cocky." The smirk was probably unnecessary here, and yet.

Jason grinned, and wrapped the second rope back up too. "You're kind of hot when you're speaking Greek, so I think we're even."

Nico glanced at the rope. "Taking the materials to-go?"

"No, I don't want to steal from our teacher," Jason said. "But now I know what to get if I ever feel like doing this in the future."

"Just in case you find yourself with a boat and someone in need of being strung to the mast?"

"Or if I'm in my room and there's someone in need of being tied to something else," Jason replied.

"Huh, that might make more sense," Nico replied. "I might have to swing by your floor more often."

"You really should," Jason said. "Consider it like extra credit."
