Library, Thursday 13
Another Thursday, another Library Shift. Zatanna felt some credits would start rolling from the edge of the...eh, you get the idea.
Sitting behind the counter, with a book of her own -which looked like it was written by someone with a really, really shaky hand- she had to wonder out loud something of utmost importance. "What would be the soundtrack of my life?" It probably was something of Queen.
Cassidy looked up from the book she was studying nearby and gave Zee a confused look. "Soundtrack? What's that?"
"Oh Cass!" How did Zee manage to be a bit loud without raising her voice, it was a mystery. Magic, perhaps. "Don't tell me you haven't seen any movies since you arrived here." She could tell her friend wasn't...precisely of a modern timeline -or at least not in the way she understood it- but she was sure the other witch had already went over all the modern time's appliances, such as movies. And soundtracks.
"....have you?"
"I saw something on that TV thing in the common room one time. I don't think it was very interesting. I was told it was a reality show and it was horrible." She closed her book and gave her friend her complete attention. "A lot of women acting stupid over a man who was obviously not very worthy of anyone."
No, Cassidy. The Bachelor didn't count as a movie.
"Yeah... but The Bachelor isn't a movie. But even then!", and she closed her book, too; she had already learned all that there was to learn from it anyway. "When they were going to commercials, or when the guy has to kick one of the girls out, there is music, right? Like, to make you realize it's sort of an important moment." Of course, realities were full of 'important moments' so it might be a little confusing.
"So a soundtrack is like a tune or a song that plays behind an action, see? Girl, you need to watch a movie with me." And she knew just which one would do the trick.
"Oh that sounds like fun, Zee," Cassidy said with a grin. "That Bachelor thing had music, but there wasn't very much rhythm to it."
"A fine example of why some people can't put soundtracks in your life", said Zee with a knowing nod. "What's that you are reading, anyway?" It was a library, so Zatanna supposed that would be theme, right? Talking about books?
"Oh, it's a book on chemistry form this world. I'm taking a chemistry class and I'm trying to become more familiar with things here. I never knew that so many things all around you in this place could be made to explode."
Zatanna nodded. "Well, you know, everything's a weapon if you know the right way to use it?" She would probably smack someone with a book before setting it on fire, though. "Just...don't make anything explode while we are in here, alright?" She was trying not to, too!
"Oh, I would never endanger books like that! No explosions are for class..."
Somehow Zatanna decided that Fandom was one of those few places where you could say that out loud and be met with a sigh of relief. "Good, because Mr. Tamble has it complicated as it is with this place being crazy half the time."
