What NOT To Do In A Fight / Period III / Week 2 (Atreides/Deadpool)
Today class met in the Danger Shop, which was set up like a church with high vaulted ceilings and crossbeams, shadows in the eves.
"Greetings, class," Ghanima said, apparently unconcerned that her co-teacher was nowhere in sight. "Today, we're going to discuss how over-reliance on a particular type of weapon can be hazardous to your health. Familiarity breeds contempt, as they say, and if you become too biased towards a particular form of combat, you open yourself for for more weaknesses than is sensible."
Shadoooows in the eeeeeeveeeeees.
This would be, of course, when a gunshot rang out. Just in case people weren’t paying attention before.
If they hadn't been paying attention before, they sure would be now! Except the bullet speeding towards their teacher stopped in midair, inches from her skin, before dropping to the ground.
"Wade," she said patiently, looking up to the Shadoooows in the eeeeeeveeeeees. "That wasn't very nice."
Deadpool dropped down from the Shadooooows in the eeeeeeveeees to land in a crouch, a sniper rifle strapped to his back. It was a very hands on lesson, okay? “Hey, if I was actually gonna shoot you, I woulda done better than that,” he replied cheerfully. “Even though I never managed to shoot Nate in the head...”
Damn it, Nate.
Ghanima didn't want to know about their version of foreplay, alright? "True, that was a shoulder-shot, not anything leathal," she agreed. "But the point is, Deadpool has a dependence on guns. While he can use other things, he likes shooting people. This becomes a problem when someone has a defense against that type of weapon; for instance, my personal shield stops all projectile weapons unless they are moving under a particular speed. Please don't try to hit me with a laser gun, you'll just blow yourself up."
"And if I wanted to disarm him..." Ghanima moved in a blur of motion, appearing to teleport next to Deadpool. "I tend to rely too heavily on the Weirding Way. If my opponent knows this, they can anticipate my next move and do something to throw my movement off."
And knives, Ghani really liked playing with knives.
Hey, everyone loved knives!
“Aww, I like all weapons equally! Did I ever tell you about the time my swords were these super hot Asian chicks that were into some freaky shit?” Deadpool asked with a grin, flicking his wrist to reveal a hereto unknown knife that was tossed up in the air toward her to catch.
"....why are you getting cheap knives imported from China?" she teased him, as she caught it with one hand. "Look at the workmanship on this thing. You'd end up hurting yourself before someone else." The knife fluidly vanished inside the sleeve of her robe. She'd be keeping this until the end of class, thank you.
That just earned her a pout. “I got that from Weasel,” Deadpool grumbled. “Alright, kids. Whatcha dependent on and where can you improve so people can’t just kill you easy-peasy?”

React!
Re: React!
He instantly relaxed once he realized that they weren't all under siege and it was just a point of lecture. Zounds! Sometimes his nerves were just too much for things like guns.

Re: React!
Even when she saw that it was part of the lesson, her shields remained raised and at full strength for the rest of the class.
Re: React!
Then it turned out to just be Deadpool. Oh, well.
Re: React!
Mr Deadpool's entry had her relaxing enough to finally notice Lady Ghanima had stopped the bullet. HOW COOL WAS THAT?
Re: React!
which was code for "totally better"he supposed that looking mildly surprised would do.He could totally stop bullets, too.
Re: React!
Scaring a witch wasn't nice, Mr. Deadpool.
Re: React!
He wasn't too dependent on his swords, was he?
Re: React!
It was entirely possible that he was holding his pen like a knife before it became obvious that it was just some kind of insane lesson. You know. Just in case he needed to stab an assailant in the shoulder with it. As you do.
But when the lesson became obvious, Bruce merely stared ahead at the discussion. And he glared. All italicsy and everything.
