Advanced Driver's Ed, Monday Period Two

The class was again meeting in the Danger Shop, but there were some differences. Instead of a long flat stretch of road, it wove and wound its way through a series of hills and valleys and while last week's Aston Martin made a repeat appearance, today there were five cars instead of just one.

"Good morning, class," Bond began. "Now that you've had a chance to familiarise yourself with the DBS, you'll be trying something a little more challenging. In addition to the curves and rises, the surface quality of the the road you see before you of varies, which will affect the traction of your tires. You will also need to keep an eye out for your fellow students, who will be sharing the road with you. This is a test of dexterity and skill, not speed. Finishing the course in one piece is more important than finishing it quickly."

He gestured inside the nearest car. "The cars have been fitted with hands-free radio systems if you wish to communicate with myself or any your fellow students."

Bond waited until the students had gotten into the cars to add. "One more thing, there's going to be people shooting at you and trying to run you off the road. Have fun."

Professor Bond's words filtered through into Bod's mind after he'd gotten into the car and was accelerating onto the road. There were going to be people shooting at him? At his car?

Worried now, he made sure his hands free radio was on and working in case anyone needed to contact him before he gripped the wheel tightly and got the car going faster. When the other cars appeared in his rear view mirror, he winced and hoped for the best.

When they started shooting at him, he realized that hoping wasn't doing anything and he had to drive. The sharp curves nearly made him lose his lunch a few times and he was sure he was going to spin out but he was still alive. For now.
