Newspaper Crew Meeting: 16:00 FHS-20:00 FHS

Chloe sits in the Journalism room, her video camera in one hand, and a cup of coffee in the other. She tilts back in her chair, reviewing what's on the video tape as she waits for everyone else to arrive.

Krycek eyes Jake, wondering if there's something he's missed. "Which guy is that?" And why is it the only one left, is the guy a freak? Dangerous?

"In town? Um. Wonka, I think. He's having some sort of halloween candy special... thing." Jake shrugs. "Maybe you can get some free candy out of it?" He brightens more and snags the coffee again. "Or chocolate covered coffee beans."

"Oh. Wait--" His eyes narrow as he remembers something from the night before. "Wonka... He has a girl working for him, doing spells on the candy. Tonks." Krycek gives Jake a bemused look and patiently retrieves his coffee when Jake's had some. "When is it due again?"

Jake archs an eyebrow at him. "Her name is Tonks?" He sighs when Krycek takes his coffee back and pouts a little, before frowning in thought. "Monday, I think. 'Cause it's an interview."

"That's what she gave it as," he shrugs. "It'll be in by Monday, but it shouldn't even take that long. So it's an article about his Halloween special?" Krycek offers the cup of coffee back when he's had another sip.

"Yup." Jake smiles as he gets the cup back. "And, you know, about him, and candy. Think Chloe might have in mind to do these kind of interviews with all the shop owners. Eventually. Not for this issue." He shudders at the thought and sips the coffee. "And now for a totally different subject... Dad says he's definitely coming. Isn't that great?"

"Like a Town issue, with information on all the prominent shops that students might be interested in?" Krycek nods thoughtfully.

He looks at Jake sharply at the mention of his father, quiet for a moment. "Great. Have you told him about me?" He seems a little tense, covering it by stealing his coffee back to have the last bit.

Jake looks confused. "Told him about you?"

Krycek eyes Jake. "About us?"

"About... Oh!" Jake blinks as he realizes what Krycek's talking about. "Oh, sure. He's really looking forwards to meeting you. If fact, he made a point of telling me to tell you that." Jake looks sheepish. "Sorry, I forgot."

Krycek blinks, very slowly. "Really." He isn't sure at all if Jake's nonchalance means there's nothing to worry about or if this is something he should be very worried about. "Sounds great." ...And because he trusts Jake and is willing to concede being worried to him, he continues. "Is there anything I should know about your dad?" Should I buy a Kevlar vest? Stand several feet away at all times? Never ever mention that we sleep in the same bed quite often?

"Um. I don't know?" Jake says, confused. "...He's my dad. What do you want to know?"

Krycek stares at him and one might say he looks almost betrayed. When he speaks, it's slow, and maybe a little hopeful that Jake won't make him ask right out if his father is maybe an axe murderer. "Is there anything I should remember, when I meet him?" Is he going to skin me for making his only son gay? ...Is he going to hit on me?

Jake stares back, completely bewildered now. "I don't... He likes cohibas, sailing, political manuvering, being called Mr. Gavin...? What do you mean, remember?" He thinks of something. "Oh, and he's never met any of my..." he pauses. "Uh. I haven't actually had any other boyfriends, but..."

Krycek looks at him, blank-faced. He's not mad, but he's suddenly envisioning a very very long weekend full of watching dark corners and sleeping with one eye open. "And how do you think he feels about that?"

"About what?" Jake asks, completely exasperated before jumping off the table to get more coffee. He takes Krycek's mug to pour the coffee in, coming back ten seconds later, still looking exasperated and sipping coffee.

Krycek waits until Jake returns, still fairly blank as he watches his boyfriend sip coffee as though it's just barely keeping him from having a fit of some kind. "About his only son being gay?" he asks mildly.

"...That's what you're trying to ask me?" Jake blinks at him, then shrugs. "I don't know. He's fine, I guess. Why wouldn't he be? And he did want to meet you." He sips his coffee, thinking. He wasn't big on self-labelling, but... "And I'm not. Not that it actually matters at the moment, though."

Krycek takes a deep breath, shaking his head slightly. "Neither am I. That's not the point." He looks at Jake, very slightly frustrated. "I don't know your dad, Jake. I'd rather not start off on the wrong foot if I can help it."

Rolling his eyes, Jake steps all the way over to him, holds his coffee out for Krycek to take, then bends down to kiss him gently. "Don't worry. You'll do great, okay? Dad's very easy going. And I like you, so he should too." He straightens up, then grins. "I mean, hey, it's not like he's going to kill you for daring to touch his little boy or anything."

Krycek cups the coffee mug in both hands, giving Jake a very faint smirk. He's about to answer, when Jake's additional comment makes him pause, swallowing hard before he can answer. "Well, I hope not." He is going to kill me, in some terribly painful and non-traceable way.
