Newspaper Crew Meeting: 16:00 FHS-20:00 FHS

Chloe sits in the Journalism room, her video camera in one hand, and a cup of coffee in the other. She tilts back in her chair, reviewing what's on the video tape as she waits for everyone else to arrive.

Jake wrinkles his nose back. "I guess? But I'm not sure if we've got enough reactions. Should maybe think of something really good for Friday?"

"Dunno," Chihaya slumps in his chair. "I'm out of ideas at this point. I got enthusiasm for several people but even I am at my wits end."

He brightens. "We did do what we were supposed tho'. That counts for something, right?"

"It should." Jake nods. "Well, I hope so, anyway. Not our fault if the rest of the student body are, like, pathetic sheep." He grins to take the edge of the comment.

"Well, I want to kick up some dust," Chihaya says with far more bravery than he feels. His ideas, which he wants to discuss with Chloe and Rory before putting them into action, are by far the hardest things he's tried to do.

Getting involved with Earthian politics, even if it's on a small scale like a school.

"Kicking up dust? That sounds like my kind of fun," Chloe says, coming up behind Chihaya. She gives him a slightly embarassed look. "Hi. I know I should know your name. You're in Journalism, right?"

"Yes. I'm Chihaya!" He holds out his hand to shake. "I'm gate crashing tonight. Hope that's ok!"

"That's totally okay," Chloe replies, shaking his hand. "Everyone is welcome to come by and check us out. It brings people closer to the vortex where we can suck them in and make them work for us."

"Well, that's kinda why I'm here," Chihaya drops his voice so no one else can hear. "I wanted to talk to you about a regularly running article in the newspaper about the politics on campus. Sort of ties in with the journalism project Jake and I are doing now."

Chloe just blinks for a few moments, amazed at the thought that the newspaper could possibly be getting two new regular reporters in one week. Surely, someone up there loves her today.

"You guys are running the 'say yes to government accountability' campaign, right? What would your article be about?"

"Yes we are!" Chihaya says cheerfully. "Right now, my article will be about what all the Student Government has done since the election. Along with that will be a bit more of a blurb about students taking a more proactive role in the student government. Later on though I have some other things I want to write about that," he looks around at the room, "I would prefer to talk to you in private about."

Chloe follows his gaze, noticing how many people are really there. "Yeah, this isn't exactly the best place for a private conversation. But you've definitely gotten my attention now, I'll tell you that. Do you think you might have some free time tomorrow? We could find someplace to talk then."
