When Cassidy showed up at the library and she found Zatanna there, she went from happy about the new aide position to excited. She liked Zatanna and now getting to work with her would be fun and give them a chance to get to know each other better and be friends.

Zatanna had arrived just a little earlier, and was still trying not to be too overly excited about it. Seeing Cassidy didn't really help, but in this case one could say it was a good thing? "Hey Cass-!" Zatanna stopped, realizing she had been, well, shouting. "Hey Cass...", repeated, this time lower, but still smiling at her. A lot.

Cassidy grinned at her. "Hey, Zee!" She really hoped Zatanna didn't mind the nickname. She would have no problem using her full name for her if she did. "I guess we're going to be partners on Thursdays here. Isn't this great." If it helped, Cassidy was bouncing a little, too?

She loved to be called Zee, actually, and the fact Cassidy had came to use it made her a little bit bouncier for a while. And she hadn't said a thing about the nickname she had given to her, so all the best. "I guess we will! Definitely great. This place can get creepy if it gets too silent."

Cassidy had never had a nickname and the fact that Zee was using one for her made her happy that they knew they could be good friends like that. "Yeah, I've noticed that when I've been in here. I have a feeling that we won't end up getting creeped out." Exploring and being curious, though? Oh yeah, quite probably.

"Or if we will, at least we won't be alone. And Mr. Tamble is here...somewhere." They were totally going to do some exploring around, but she would like to check in with the man before any library shenanigans. Even if Henry would point he didn't want any library shenanigans. "So, ready to open this thing?" Because she was a bit nervous.

"And Mr. Tamble is a nice man, too." Cassidy nodded and smiled. "Yes, let's get our first day here started." Well, Cassidy was nervous, too, so at least they would be in good company?

She clapped -silently- and nodded. It could only get better from that point.

So the library was open!

Enthusiasm! Henry liked enthusiasm in a library, as long as it didn't damage the books. (It was an interesting balance: All four of his female library aides this term were incredibly bouncy people.) Besides, ti was good practice for dealing with Alba's inevitable boyband stage.

"It's been a while since I saw anybody that excited to be in here," he said, as he went to fill his coffee. "Morning! Are you finding everything okay?"

Cassidy grinned at him from where she was shelving some books that she had found.

"Good morning, Mr. Table," she said cheerfully. "Everything seems fine so far. How are you?"

Unless something tragic happened, Cassidy was going to always be cheerful about being able to work where there were so many books!

Henry winced a bit at having the DeTamble name demoted that of to furniture, but he hated to correct a misspeaking when it came with a smile.

"I'm good," he said, leaning over the counter to try to see what Cassidy and Zatanna were already working on. "Things are quiet so far, so that's nice. Do you need a library tour?"

[[Ooops. That was totally me accidentally leaving out the first part. Sorry!]]

"So far everything has been pretty quiet," Cassidy agreed. Well, if you didn't count the two witches who were just enjoying themselves too much as they were acquainting themselves with the library. "I'd love a tour, what about you, Zee? Is there anything important that we need to know today?"

She looked from him to grin at Zatanna.

"Very well, we hope?", added the (other) witch as she rearranged some Latin books that kept mixing with the Italian and French ones. There was a tasteless joke somewhere there but Zatanna wasn't going to think about it.

"Have you ever had two aides at the same time?" Because they might even be setting a precedent here, and that would be a-we-so-me. "And...well, I'm always interested in knowing more about the magic collection of the library. Spells and the such."

"We keep spells in Special Collections," Henry told her. "Nothing personal, we just don't want to encourage people who don't know what they're doing to set the school on fire or anything. It's been that way for years, from what I can tell. You'd need to work with a teacher to get access."

And then he'd ask the teacher what on earth he or she was thinking, but that was another topic.

"And nope, the two-aides-at-once is new to me. As for a tour .... have either of you heard anything about Special Collections, speaking of that?"

Cassidy shook her head, and the idea of spells being hidden or locked away was something that she didn't understand. But that was probably because of where she was from. She would ask Zee about how things were done in her home later, and then perhaps ask Mr. DeTamble why he thought that was.

"I heard about it when that labyrinth thing happened, but I have no idea what that really means." She was trying to hide the confusion about it. Then she just had to ask.

"Why would other witches here hide their spells, sir?"

"The librarian in me thinks all information should be free," Henry answered slowly, trying to think of how to put it. "But this is a school, and one with a lot of very young, very powerful people in it, with all different kinds of magic. I think the founders wanted to minimize risks. There are books about magic, just nothing with actual spells." A pause. "I think there's a store in town that can help you, anyhow."

When he pings in and if he isn't too busy trying to avoid the overly excited new girls.

Which is probably glad that it is not at a library with two overly excited teen girls.
