"We've nicknamed him Professor Poor, Unfortunate Soul," says Janet. "Hopefully he won't get turned into a gerbil."

"Ooh, chocolate-covered strawberries," says Janet, smiling happily. "Thank you!" She takes the package and slips it into her backpack, wondering if she'll be able to hide them well enough to have them to herself. "It's so nice to see the library staff appreciated properly."

As for appreciating library staff...let's just say I have personal knowledge of the need for respect. Keep those safe, Ms Fraiser--they're all yours.
