Library is OPEN - 10/26

Methos is engaged in a war with the never-ending pile of books to be cataloged. It looks like the books are winning.

"They were fine," he replies, unable to stop smiling goofily at her. "No harassment, what with Vala in the infimary... uh, clinic."

"Oh, good," she says, staring up at him. Really, she had to stop acting like a lovestruck teenager. "Passing the wonders of archaeology on to another generation? I heard about Vala. Cam called. I'm heading to the clinic after we close up the library so I can check on them say hi."

"Something like that," he grins. "Cameron called me too, to excuse them both from class. I've offered to make it up with them if they feel they want to."

Janet leans her elbows on the counter and rests her chin on her hands. "That's nice of you," she says. "So are you here for a book, or the company?"

Daniel looks slightly embarrassed. "Well, would you actually believe that I never got around to filling out my forms for my library card?" he asks. "Not that I can fault the company at all."

Janet's laughter fills the air as she reaches--without looking away--for a library card application. "Daniel Jackson stay away from the place where they keep the books? Were you feeling all right?" Thankfully, no one's moved the pen holder either, and she can reach and grab a pen without breaking eye contact. "The company in the library is always superb, you know."

"Well, it was such chaos at the start of term, and at first, I wasn't sure if the library would have the sort of books that I need." Daniel takes the pen and form, leaning against his notebook to fill in the relevant details. "But now I know what wonders await me here, I'm sure I'll be a regular visitor."

"Chaos?" Janet happily watches him write on the form. "That's putting it mildly. But trust me, this place has nearly anything you'd need, and a few things you don't."

She smiles again. "A regular visitor? That'd be nice. Very nice. But don't go into Special Collections without a library card."

Daniel laughs as he hands back his completed form. "Once I've checked out what books and resources you do have, I might have to set my classes research projects. I'm sure they'll love me for that."

"I wouldn't dare," he says, smiling back at her.
