Fandom High Welcome Picnic, Front Lawn of the School, All Day: Part II

In order to give people a place to get away from the traffic jam of the buffet and information tables, most of the chairs and tables had been set up further out on the lawn, away from the school building. The bonfires were going strong, and there was plenty of room for everyone to sit down and enjoy themselves. Assuming they weren't too busy still trying to figure this place out.

Clark tilted his head at her. "Oh, no, they're really not. You know, I was born on one of those dots, so far away you can't see it."

"...oh." That wasn't a bad 'oh' so much as a things clicking into place 'oh'.

"You didn't forget I'm an alien, did you?" Not that she could, given all his freaky powers.

"No." Kind of hard to forget when you got landed on by six-plus-foot of boy on a fairly regular basis. "I just didn't think that meant more than not-human."

"Huh. I mean, I guess it's not so weird. You do have your agiels and that's pretty different from my world. Maybe stars in your world aren't planets!"

"Maybe." It wasn't like Cara really had any way to tell.

"So, Bobby was teaching you about the planets?" Clark prodded, wondering where else this might go.

"And meteor showers." Cara added. "Which he invited me to watch with him. Then we talked about classes."

"Is he taking The Doctor's class with us again?" Yes, Clark totally stalked Cara's schedule, shut up.

So long as he didn't try telling her what classes to take, she wasn't going to comment on it. "He is. Seemed excited about it."

"Think you'll be a TA again?" Clark teased. "I know how much you enjoy that role."

Oh, look Cara's elbow mysteriously slipped and headed straight for his stomach. "Probably, if the Doctor hasn't gotten over his obsession with my boots."

The weirdo.

Hopefully he relaxed his stomach in time to avoid her causing herself injury. "They are really freaking sexy," he said, laughing at her annoyance.

Cara resisted the urge to rub her elbow. Stupid invulnerable boy. "Are they? Maybe I should try wearing only them then?" She probably wouldn't but she liked seeing the expression on his face when she suggested things like that.

It was a really good expression. "To class? Because I wouldn't say no to wearing them around the dorm room, but uh..."

"Is something wrong?" Cara asked, she was kind of bad at sounding innocent though.

"Come on, you know I don't like the idea of other people getting to, you know." See her all naked, that was what he was getting at. "And don't get mad, it's not like you're the best with sharing your toys."

Not without being asked if it was all right first, she wasn't. "There's a difference between see people naked and sharing."

Oh dear, this was going to end with someone attempting to prove a point.

"Depends on if those people get the idea sharing is an option from what they see," Clark replied stubbornly.

"Since you apparently trust my ability to turn people down so little, why don't you just bend me over that picnic table there?" Cara suggested, more than just her pride stung. "I'm pretty sure people will get the idea quickly enough then."

"That is so unfair, Cara!" Clark said, mouth gaping. "I didn't mean it like that. You're amazing, and anyone who sees you, clothed or not should wish they were as lucky as me!"

"That doesn't mean I'm going to start sleeping with them!"

If she lay with everyone who wanted her, she'd have wasted more time on their quest then Richard did rescuing small animals. And Richard rescued a lot of small animals.

"I don't expect you to! But I am totally aware you could have anyone you wanted," he said, hating how confused she made his head. Or was that just the jealousy?

"I want you!" Even if there were occasionally times she wondered why. "I don't want anyone else on this island."

And wasn't that a dangerous admission right there.

"No one else?" Clark was kind of thrilled by that idea. Even if he did wonder why she would want him when there were guys like Bruce around.
