Fandom High Welcome Picnic, Front Lawn of the School, All Day: Part II

In order to give people a place to get away from the traffic jam of the buffet and information tables, most of the chairs and tables had been set up further out on the lawn, away from the school building. The bonfires were going strong, and there was plenty of room for everyone to sit down and enjoy themselves. Assuming they weren't too busy still trying to figure this place out.

"Hello!" she said. "You're one of the new kids, right?"

"I'm Juliet Darling," Juliet confirmed, smiling back at the redhead easily. "Did my brother point me out or something?"

"No," Ariel said with a grin, "but I did meet him. I think. I've just been keeping an eye out for the unfamiliar faces and going straight for them when I spot them. I'm Ariel, by the way. Unofficial welcoming committee."

"The official big sister wasn't enough?" Juliet teased, but she was still smiling. "That's really nice of you. Do you like it here?"

"Oh, I love it," Ariel easily gushed. "This place is fantastic. I keep coming back, anyway, so that's a good sign, right? Who do you have as your big sibling?"

"Kennedy," Juliet answered. "I'm not sure if I like her yet. She said some really weird stuff."

"Well," Ariel allowed, "it is a pretty weird place. What sort of things did she say?"

"Like she was just making stuff up," Juliet said dismissively. "Her roommate is an alien, there are actual attacks on the island, that kind of thing."

"That's...actually not too made up," Ariel said after a moment of deciding if she should point out that, if that was all she said, that was pretty on the light side of things, too.

"Oh." Juliet was trying to decide if this was the most elaborate hazing ever, or if she should just start taking it all seriously. She seemed to decide to go with it, if only for the moment.

"So ... the stuff my brother's fake brother said about Greek gods is for real, too?"
