Fandom High Welcome Picnic, Front Lawn of the School, All Day: Part II
In order to give people a place to get away from the traffic jam of the buffet and information tables, most of the chairs and tables had been set up further out on the lawn, away from the school building. The bonfires were going strong, and there was plenty of room for everyone to sit down and enjoy themselves. Assuming they weren't too busy still trying to figure this place out.

Roommates, fake siblings and teachers are all here and there's more room for mingling here. Since it's outside, the picnic is open to all students, teachers, and townies!]

"Kiss kiss," she said, returning the smile to...her? Him? Karla wasn't sure and the psychic scent wasn't telling either.
Okay, that was disconcerting. Very disconcerting. She tried not to let her smile slip. "I'm Karla."
Re: General Mingling [Spring 2011]
"I'm Sov," they replied. "The food here is really good."
Re: General Mingling [Spring 2011]
Okay, yes. Pleasantries. She could do pleasantries without know gendering. This would be fine.

Shaking off her moment of homeseickness, she tilted her head towards Sov and asked, "What of your home?"
Re: General Mingling [Spring 2011]
It was odd, having to describe the place.
"I've never been away from home before."
"Magic?"
Re: General Mingling [Spring 2011]
At least, it had been for her. Of course, there had been some contributing factors to that as well.
"You've never heard of magic before?" Karla asked, a little taken aback. Craft was something most new students weren't familiar with, but Karla hadn't met anyone who didn't know what magic was. She was a little at a loss for a way to describe it. "Ummm...using the manipulation of, uh, energy to accomplish...things?" she tried.
And then figured a practical demonstration would be more useful. She crooked her finger at several cookies, causing them to float off the table and onto her plate. "Like that. But there's a lot more than that."
