Fandom High Welcome Picnic, Front Lawn of the School, All Day: Part II

In order to give people a place to get away from the traffic jam of the buffet and information tables, most of the chairs and tables had been set up further out on the lawn, away from the school building. The bonfires were going strong, and there was plenty of room for everyone to sit down and enjoy themselves. Assuming they weren't too busy still trying to figure this place out.

It had been fun. He was absolutely planning on doing that again in the future, yes.

"You seem to be in a good mood," Karla noted. "And your wings are out."

She sounded pleased by that. She'd half-thought he'd be hiding them again. And with the bracelet she'd given him, she couldn't even try to convince him to strip in order to free his wings again.

"It's easier to convince myself to keep them out, knowing that I can put them away any time," he admitted, half-stretching one just slightly for show. "So far, nobody's really seemed to mind too much, though I can tell that it's kind of weird for some."

Like that girl from the universe where vegans got superpowers. That was new.

"I'm having fun introducing the newbies to the idea that Craft exists," Karla admitted. "But then, I've never been a very nice person."

She ruffled the feathers on his wings a bit, scritching up at the base. "You're getting more confident in yourself, love. I like it."

"I'd be lying," Warren noted, smiling and settling into that scratching, "if I said that you didn't have a lot to do with that, you know."

Her 'so what' attitude about his wings, even back when they'd first met, had been like a breath of fresh air compared to the decade he'd spent feeling ashamed of himself. Mostly ashamed for not being able to get rid of them.

"And I'd be lying if I said I'm not glad to hear it," Karla said, resting her head on his chest while keeping up the scratching. "I like knowing that I do more than lead you into one disaster after another," she admitted.

So far. But Karla knew there would be more in the future. Hobart wasn't going to hand Glacia over without a fight.

Warren's eyes went a tiny bit wider, and he almost dropped his coffee.

"I'll keep that in mind," Karla said with the utmost innocence. "Well, I should probably continue on and find more newbies to break. Though if you're interested in some of those ideas, you know where to find me later."
