Fandom High Welcome Picnic, Front Lawn of the School, All Day: Part II

In order to give people a place to get away from the traffic jam of the buffet and information tables, most of the chairs and tables had been set up further out on the lawn, away from the school building. The bonfires were going strong, and there was plenty of room for everyone to sit down and enjoy themselves. Assuming they weren't too busy still trying to figure this place out.

"Oh, no." This conversation was doing nothing to solve Ariel of her giggle problem, probably because she could picture it all too well. "Don't let that deter you! Jacob is probably just having a grumpy morning."

"It would take a lot more than a hairy science fiction nerd to deter me from anything," he promised, smirking. "Are you going to bounce some more?"

"Probably," Ariel said, perfectly innocent and completely not following exactly what he might be asking. "I tend to get a little excitable and when that happens..."

"You should keep bouncing," he said, nodding and waving a hand to sort of illustrate the kind of bouncing he was hoping for. "I don't mind. I am excellent observer of such things."

"I can't really help it," Ariel pointed out with a giggle, because a detailed discussion bringing awareness to bouncing seemed a little on the silly side to her. At the moment. It might actually catch up with her later. "So it's probably good that you don't mind."

"And you're excited just because of little ole me?" Nathan asked, amused. "Does that make you the designated member of the welcome wagon? Will you be giving out hugs as well as bouncing?"

Don't ever say that Nathan didn't try hard.

"Oh, I'm not designated," Ariel said. "Completely unofficial, but I do want to do my part to make all the new students feel welcome. If that includes a hug, sure! You're a hugging sort of guy?"

...not that he had to with Ariel.
