BWI Portalocity Lounge [Sunday morning]

While Ramona had seen a lot of things, and traveling by portal hadn't really freaked her out or anything, she still wasn't really feeling great about being here. Maybe making an impulse decision to go to Maryland (of all places) hadn't been her best move.

In any case, though, she was here now, and there wasn't really a reason for her to turn back without giving it at least a day or so. So she lounged against the wall under the sign for Fandom High in the lounge, her bags by her feet as she waited for the shuttle.

Teacher offering her a hand. Wow. Not exactly treatment Ramona had encountered in the New York public school system.

"Ramona," she replied, shaking Ghanima's hand. "What do you teach?"

"Most recently? Cultural appreciation, which was my excuse to take us on as many field trips as I could manage," Ghanima shared. "Previously, I've taught history, philosophy, mythology, religion...usually whatever suits my fancy when course proposals are due."

Ghanima's lips quirked slightly in amusement. "I think it's safe to say that Fandom High will be completely unlike anything that you or the other new students have experienced before," she promised.

"A castle converted into a high school, which recruits the most exceptional people for the campus," Ghanima replied smoothly. It lacked the polished delivery of being a rehearsed pitch in any way, but it was the truth, as she saw it.
