BWI Portalocity Lounge [Sunday morning]

While Ramona had seen a lot of things, and traveling by portal hadn't really freaked her out or anything, she still wasn't really feeling great about being here. Maybe making an impulse decision to go to Maryland (of all places) hadn't been her best move.

In any case, though, she was here now, and there wasn't really a reason for her to turn back without giving it at least a day or so. So she lounged against the wall under the sign for Fandom High in the lounge, her bags by her feet as she waited for the shuttle.

[OCD coming up shortly! OCD IS UP WHEEE NEWBIES.]

Someone needed to drive the bus and Ghanima was somehow the less responsible of the pair on the road. Yeah. You just think about that one.

Scary, right?

But there Deadpool was, reading what appeared to be an old issue of Highlights magazine and humming along to something by Ke$ha on the radio. May god have mercy on his soul.

Buses weren't quite in Tony's area of expertise. Well, not the kind one road to a school. Or... okay anywhere.

But he might have designed one or two! Maybe. He had a lot of patents already, okay?

But there he was, holding onto his backpack and looking around cautiously. Where was Rhodey when you needed him?

"Yeah," Tony said, glancing over to stare first at the hair, then at the phone. Back to the hair once again before remembering: girl. He cleared his throat, trying to sit more casually. "High school," he added like that said it all.

He so shoulda asked Rhodey more questions about what people did in high school.

Or maybe researched it some more online. Tony could feel his cheeks heat up and he coughed to cover that up oh so well.

Somewhere, another version of him was head-desking at how smooth he was not.

"Do you go... often?" Yeah, he winced at how that sounded too.

Sov put their back down, relieved to have found the sign. The noise and oddness of this place made them more uneasy than the portal itself, but this was carefully hidden behind a mask of wary indifference.

They glanced a little at the other people waiting, but didn't really try to make eye contacts.

[I'm off to bed soon but will pick up pings in the morning]

"It's my first time," Tony admitted. "Since... a long time."

"Hello." Sov offered a small smile.

That hair colour was hard not to notice. Could it be natural? "Is that your natural hair colour?"

"Ah, my dad pulled me out for homeschooling." Tony pulled out his phone, fiddling with it with the same intensity that Robin Williams used to tell jokes. "And now I have to go again to inherent his company."

Way to make the dumbest clause in your will ever, Howard Stark.

Tony offered the, well he was going to assume boy here, a quick smile. "New here too?"

Tony shrugged, eyes dropping for a moment. "He said he felt guilty about stuff. So, I have to graduate from high school and turn 18 to take control of the company. Even though I'm ten times smarter than half the people there."

It would be him being smug if only it wasn't true.

"Of course I am," he replied, managing a grin. "I'm Tony Stark."

Hey, he was just going to go with her being polite. Because everyone knew about Stark Industries Enterprises International. "So, are schools normally like this?"
