Boom-De-Yada Science - Danger Shop, Wednesday, Period 1 [Week 13]

The Danger Shop was set up like an old cinema. There were 3D specs for everyone to wear to watch the film that was playing. The general premise was that a giant squid was attacking a small coastal town, similar to Mandibles but with more tentacles. The cinema employee may have been holographic, but the popcorn and drinks he was selling were from the real world.

Before the movie started, the Doctor's face appeared on the screen. He adjusted the camera and then stood back. "Hello! If you're watching this, I'm unable to make it to class. As your adult supervision for this hour, I'm obligated to provide you with something to do. The food and drinks aren't required, but I thought I'd be nice. Put your 3D glasses on and watch the movie. Come ready next week with five facts about giant squids. And since it will be your exam," he added with one of those annoying smiles that suggested he was hiding something, "wear sensible shoes."

Clark was certainly not snickering as he watched her fishing in her cleavage through red and blue glasses.

Such appropriate eye wear for him.

The lack of snickering had absolutely nothing to do with the generous handful of popcorn now flying in Clark's direction.

It had everything to do with the forming plot that involved the leftover ice in her drink cup though.

It was going to take some washing to get that butter out of his hair, but Clark couldn't avoid laughing as he picked it off his shirt and ate it. Like he was wasting perfectly good popcorn.
wrongkindofsith: (Who's the prettiest Lord Rahl then?)

Cara took advantage of the opportunity to shift to a closer seat. "You missed some," she said quietly, reaching up to play with his hair.

Clearly she was not planning anything untoward.

Of course not! Cara was a sweet girl and knew exactly how to make Clark smile and pause, keeping the popcorn in his hand because she was touching him.
wrongkindofsith: (Her face doesn't break when she smiles)

"Enjoying the movie?" Cara's grin broadened as she lightly trailed her fingertips down to the back of his neck, because nefarious intent or no, she liked getting that reaction. Far more than she sometimes thought she should.

Multitasking, it's an awesome skill.

Clark looked at Cara through his excessively geeky glasses and his smile brightened with the use of her skills. "It's not bad. I probably shouldn't be rooting for the squid."
wrongkindofsith: (You will all die for this)

"So far it's only killed the extraordinarily stupid," Cara pointed out, idly tracing patterns against his skin. "Let's go swimming in the monster infested water. That can't possibly go wrong."

In other words, she was currently Team Squid.

"Hey now, sometimes people are wrong when they claim the water's infested," Clark pointed out jokingly. It was always a bad idea. This was how he ended up in so many of the situations he ended up in.
wrongkindofsith: (Your mouth moves and nonsense comes out)

Re: Watch the Movie

[personal profile] wrongkindofsith 2010-12-01 03:37 pm (UTC)(link)
"So you're saying you'd go in the water?" She might, but that's because she'd be trying to kill the monster.

"To be there and stop the people from getting hurt, sure," he shrugged, wanting more of that hair touching, thanks.
wrongkindofsith: (Discussing Kahlan's birthday present)

Re: Watch the Movie

"And who's going to keep you from getting hurt in the process?" Because which of them here was invulnerable, again?

By now the hair touching had graduated to flown-blown stroking. It was almost a pity she didn't know about the fine tradition of necking at the movies.

Re: Watch the Movie

[identity profile] redandblueblur.livejournal.com 2010-12-02 12:39 am (UTC)(link)
"You're obsessed with thinking I could ever be hurt," Clark said, laughing a little, and thinking quite a lot about the potential for necking when there was no teacher in the room.
wrongkindofsith: (Your mouth moves and nonsense comes out)

It wasn't like the TA was overly worried about improper behaviour either.

"There's a difference between obsession and concern." It didn't help that certain other people who acted like they were invulnerable had a tendency to actually end up dead. Multiple times. Richard.

[identity profile] redandblueblur.livejournal.com 2010-12-02 12:57 am (UTC)(link)
"Yeah, well, I think I could take a squid," Clark teased. Because again with the bullets barely bruising his skin at point blank range.
wrongkindofsith: (Her face doesn't break when she smiles)

Re: Watch the Movie

[personal profile] wrongkindofsith 2010-12-02 01:01 am (UTC)(link)
"And after you were done fighting the seafood?" Cara teased back.

Re: Watch the Movie

[identity profile] redandblueblur.livejournal.com 2010-12-02 01:03 am (UTC)(link)
"I'd run to wherever you were." As fast as he could.
wrongkindofsith: (Pretty sure you're insane)

Re: Watch the Movie

[personal profile] wrongkindofsith 2010-12-02 01:09 am (UTC)(link)
And Cara was not thrown by that answer at all, especially since it was the kind of thing Richard or Kahlan would say to each other while she rolled her eyes in the background. "You're assuming I wouldn't be fighting the squid too."

Re: Watch the Movie

[identity profile] redandblueblur.livejournal.com 2010-12-02 01:13 am (UTC)(link)
"I didn't say where you'd be," Clark pointed out, being smart for once. "Just that I'd go there." She was the one with her hand in his hair.
wrongkindofsith: (Discussing Kahlan's birthday present)

Re: Watch the Movie

[personal profile] wrongkindofsith 2010-12-02 01:17 am (UTC)(link)
Cara went to rest her chin on his shoulder, more or less abandoning any pretence of paying attention to the movie. "You wouldn't have to go particularly far."

By her standards that was an unbearably mushy admission.

Re: Watch the Movie

[identity profile] redandblueblur.livejournal.com 2010-12-02 01:33 am (UTC)(link)
Clark could drop the popcorn in his hand on the floor to try and sneak an arm around her for that. "Guess it doesn't matter I'm willing."
wrongkindofsith: (Her face doesn't break when she smiles)

Re: Watch the Movie

[personal profile] wrongkindofsith 2010-12-02 01:43 am (UTC)(link)
Cara didn't exactly snuggle closer, but she did relax slightly. "It's appreciated."

Re: Watch the Movie

[identity profile] redandblueblur.livejournal.com 2010-12-02 02:03 am (UTC)(link)
It was best not to think about how nice it was to be in class like this. "You should've taken film class with me this semester. I think you'd have liked it."
wrongkindofsith: (Your mouth moves and nonsense comes out)

Re: Watch the Movie

[personal profile] wrongkindofsith 2010-12-02 02:10 am (UTC)(link)
Nice enough that Cara was willing to postpone her brilliant revenge plan for the moment. "You do?" she asked, not so much disagreeing as curious.

"Lots of time in the theater like this," Clark said with a nod. "Minus the dorky glasses."
