It was Thanksgiving Day. It was time for parades, football and food. Currently, Alex was leaning against one of the walls in the kitchen, watching the catering company set up for dinner. There was a shitload of food and his stomach growled just watching.

It was good to be president. He got to delegate everything.

When one of the caterers stepped forward and thrust a plastic wrapped garment bag in his hand, Alex frowned.

"What?"

"Outfits for the dinner," the caterer said. "The contract states that we make and you serve the food. No fulfillment of the contract, no food."

Confused, Alex unzipped the bag and peeked inside. The costume was not cool at all.

"Are you serious?" Alex asked, glaring. "No way!"

"No costumes," the caterer said, already signaling his workers to get ready to package the food up, "no food."

Alex continued glaring at the caterer and the costume. He hated his life.

"It doesn't make buying clothes easy," he mused. As if he wasn't still going around in t-shirts in fucking November. "It's got advantages, though. Like I can be annoying and tower over people."

"Are you correlating the ability to be irritating to size?" Rosalind looked vaguely amused. "Then, truly, you are."

"Nah," he shook his head. "That's just you. Everyone else loves me. You just have to be difficult like always."

He? He was never difficult. Ever.

"Well, leeches then not to be but then that's just them being jealous," he said easily. "So really, you can say thanks for being able to know me."

"Ungrateful," he said, faking a cough. "So is there anything like this back home? Or do you not do holidays?"

"We have the tree lighting ceremony," she said, after a moment's thought. "But that's about it, truly."

"So like Christmas?" he asked. "I suppose it wouldn't be as much like Christmas as it'd be Midwinter? I don't think I remember you mentioning religion."

"There's gods and goddesses," she replied, "but not much worship of them for the most part."

Rosalind shook her head. "It's not really to--signify anything. A generous gesture on ShinRa's part, perhaps, but nothing..."

He nodded. "So you just light the tree and don't do much else? Or do you give presents to each other and things like that?"
