Unconventional Tactics, Tuesday, Period 2
Today, Reno's class had been told to meet in the library for their lesson. And to bring something to write with and a notebook, because they were going to need to actually do, like, research and crap today.
Not in those exact words, really, but what the inflections of what Reno thought often bled into the messages that he passed on regardless.
"Yo, Rookies! Today we're coverin' one of Fandom's finest traditions in time of crisis, zoto. Today, we're goin' to talk about the people who roll up their sleeves an' make their way here when we're faced with somethin' we don't quite understand, because there ain't no place on the island with more information available to us than right here in the library. We can cast spells and punch things in the face and burn barricades all we want, but it's the island's researchers who find out what it is we're up against, and how the hell to get rid of it."
He grinned, leaning back against the Library Aide's desk with his arms crossed over his chest.
"Your mission today is to pick something, any something, that has already hit the island or that you think potentially could, and to find out everything you can about it. Take notes, Rookies. I want you to hand in what you found by the time the period is through. You got everything in the library at your disposal, from books to newspapers to the computers over there, but first person I see who tries to sneak into Special Collections gets detention for life."
What? As much as he loved the idea of going in there after you, he really had better things to do today.
"Rinoa here's been nice enough to agree to help you mooks find what you're lookin' for, so don't be afraid to pester her with questions. Keeps her day interesting, yo."

Re: Talk to Rinoa
It was fun. She was going to sit here and try to look knowledgeable and helpful. She didn't actually know much about any of Fandom's past invasions, but guiding people through the library? That, she could definitely handle.
(fair warning, my availability will be nil during the daytime, but all pings will be answered sooner or later, for reals!)
Re: Talk to Rinoa
"Thanks for agreeing to help out with this, yo. We covered a lot of other angles this semester for dealin' with the worst that hits, but research is one of the most important, yo."
Re: Talk to Rinoa
She tilted her head to look over the group. "Do people usually hit the library when bad things happen, around here?" she asked. It was a good strategy. Garden usually tried to attack first and ask questions later.
Re: Talk to Rinoa
"Depends on the people," he admitted. "This is generally the first place people head if they ain't fightin' types. If it was me, I'd be out there with my baton, throwin' Thundaga at whatever's makin' trouble, yo."
