So You Say You Want a Revolution: Week 10, Period 3

There was way too much energy in the air, and after accidentally telling the girl at the Perk exactly how she was feeling this morning, Aly had decided to keep talking to a minimum.

When the class entered the Danger Room, they would see the scale model that had been there last week. And then behind it was the outer wall, the heads of guards visible as they walked their rounds.

"Remember last week?" Aly asked, mostly rhetorically. She gestured first to a stockpile of supplies from armor to bread to bomb-makings then back towards the castle. "Have fun stormin' the castle!"

If Cara perked up slightly on finding out the subject of the lesson, it was due largely to two facts. One, Mord'Sith were very good at channelling certain urges into violence, and two, that storming castles usually required very little conversation not directly related to attacking them.

Luke had figured out there was something way wrong when he totally TMI'd at the counter guy at JGOB. He almost skipped class when he realized that he lost his internal monologue and when he saw he was going to be spending the class with Nico he immediately wished he did skip. There were just some things his cousin didn't need to know.

Maybe if he pretended to be grumpy and aloof people would leave him alone. He was kind of in a bad mood anyway, considering the whole situation plus the fact that he was still all restless and twitchy despite spending yesterday with Percy.

Grumpy and aloof was never going to stop Nico from stopping by his cousin and tilting his head. "Ready to storm the castle?"

"I was kind of hoping I could sit here and not talk to anybody," Luke said, wincing when the 'yeah, it's gonna be awesome' that he wanted to say didn't come out.

"But then I'd have to go back to staring awkwardly at Percy and Jason and we can't have that," Nico replied, a little surprised by his own flow of information.

Luke lifted his eyebrows, not sure if Nico had the same problem as him or if he was just being weird. It was hard to tell.

"Trust me, Nico, there are worse things than staring," Luke said. "Percy stares at me all the time. I like it."

See, this is why he was trying to be aloof.

Now that was a statement deserving of a strange look. "What do you mean you like it?" Nico thought for sure Luke was messing with him. He couldn't possibly enjoy that Percy hated his guts.

Luke thankfully had the quick reflexes to put his hands over his mouth and muffle his answer. And here he thought it'd totally be Percy giving everything away.

When he was sure he wasn't gonna say anything else he removed his hands but kept them close just in case. "I can't lie for some reason and now I'm too afraid to talk to be people because I'll give stuff away."

Luke gave Nico some puppy eyes, thinking maybe that would garner some sympathy. Surely that would work.

There was nothing like fear of giving things away to heighten Nico's interest. "I feel like I'm missing something here... I'm usually the one afraid of giving everything away with you people wandering around clueless about how important--" He clapped his hand over his mouth to stop the rest of that thought.

"See?" Luke said, not even bothered that Nico had been so close to giving something important away since he was proving his point. "I don't want you to be mad at us!"

"Why am I going to be mad at you?" Nico hissed, only uncovering his mouth for the words he was willing to allow out.

"Because...because..." Luke tried to hold it in but eventually it became too much to handle. He put his hands over his face (he didn't want to see this) and said, "Percy and I have been fooling around for weeks and we didn't want to tell you because we knew you'd flip out!"

For a moment, Nico just stared at Luke with wide, blinking blue brown eyes.

Then his lips started to move and he found the words were too fast to even form fully on his lips until Nico let loose with a sudden and exasperated, "WHAT?!"

"I'm sorry!" Luke said, suddenly thankful that people were trying to lay siege to a castle and therefore probably too distracted to listen to them. "We kissed at the kissing booth and then we kissed again at Homecoming and then we just...didn't stop..."

"What doesn't he understand about--" It took all of Nico's willpower to shove his fist against his mouth to prevent himself from telling Luke what was coming.

Another moment and Nico had chilled out enough to finally manage words that Luke could hear. "I'll talk to you tomorrow!"

Well that didn't sound good. But Luke nodded, afraid to say anything else, but looking pretty apologetic. He knew he should probably warn Percy but he honestly was the last person he wanted to talk to when he couldn't lie.

Leia was finding it very hard to concentrate on class. Clearly, boys were far more important right now, and she just might blatantly check some out in class.
