"I'm ok. I should be getting back though. I'm just supposed to be getting my assignments and some air." Maia looks at his shoulder "I hope it was nothing serious that bit you." Maia starts to walk slowly away with her papers tucked under her arms.

John gets up and follows.
"Here, how about I hold your stuff and you worry about the pole?"

Maia's smile was slow to come as she handed the books over. "I'm going to go sit on a bench out near the clinic, to get some air." Maia starts to walk and then turns. "Thank you, for helping me."

"No problem." John tucked them under his arm and slung his bag over his shoulder.

"So, um, what happened? To you. I mean, you don't look like you should be moving much. Not that it's stopping you, of course. I mean, if it's not prying."

Maia frowns a bit as they walk through the doorway. "I don't know really what happened. I-I don't remember a lot of it. I think I was in my room and then everything was dark, for days. I heard someone say I was in the dark for 11 days or something like that." Maia looks down at her arms where the bruises were. "I think I look worse then I feel. I'm just, I'm tired, kinda like I've had the flu for a really long time you know." Maia smiled "Your not prying at all. My turn though, what bit you?"

"Well, glad I'm not prying. Um. I think it was a tick or something. I'm not sure. It happened this weekend."

Maia looked at him. "Where did you go? To get a tick on you. They don't bit you know, they are actually there under your skin."

"I..."

John paused.

"I had a rough coulple of weeks. I decided to take the weekend off. In the woods."

Maia frowned. "Yeah, I've had a rough couple weeks myself." She then smiled softly at John. "I hope everything is all better now though."

"I... don't think that it will get better. It'll just get... I don't even know the words, but it'll just get. And I hope you get better. Or at least some fake tan stuff."
John smiles a goofy smile.

Maia laughs a real laugh for the first time since before she was in the coma. "Oh damn do I look that bad?" Maia laughs "I usually am much darker then this."

"You look like the twin to the gal in Ethics. Definitely needs a big ol' bottle of Fake'n'Bake, she does. You, I don't think it's permanent."

Maia laughs again "No not permanent, in fact after some fresh air and out in the sun for a few days I'll be back to my normal healthy skin tone I think." *smiles* "Is ethics good? I havent been able to go obviously." *smiles again*

"Yeah I plan on it. I think I'll be able to start back to classes in a few days. Ta- Ms. Maclay is really nice."

"You take care of yourself. Or figure out a way to hang a bookbag on that sickpole if you're gonna continue dragging it with you."

He held out her books and papers, with a goofy smile.

Maia smiled as they stood in the doorway leading to the bench outside. "Yeah I think I'll make another hook on it or something if it comes to that. Thank you for your help by the way. I appreciate it."

Maia returns the smile and takes her books and papers. She walks outside and arranges herself on the bench leaning back and enjoying the sunlight.
