So You Say You Want a Revolution: Week 9, Period 3

"Hope you all enjoyed your guest teacher last week," Aly said, looking tanned from a week in the Copper Isles. "The Doctor gave you all a good report -" she smirked, remembering the exact words "- except for something about not arguing about grammar? Good call, life's way too short."

She gestured to the class to gather around the cut open (think dollhouse) scale model of the school. A scale model in all aspects like only the Danger Shop could provide. The school was set up as a working castle with an outer wall, guards, an armory, and all sorts of little people wandering about to do their daily jobs, milking cows, making bread, patrolling the walls, sharpening their swords, etc. The Principal's Office had been transformed into the throne room of a tiny king. "You're working in your groups today, and what I'd like you all to do is come up with a plan to infiltrate - and hold - this castle. You're getting way more information than you'd normally have in a situation like this so make use of it. Also you can use any personal powers or skills you have in your group, but I'd rather that's not all you focus on. If someone can melt the stone of the outer wall, that's great, but you still might need someone to subdue the fighters inside or the talk the King into surrendering. Use all your resources including those listed on the board to make up your plan." She glanced around, looking for any questions. "And I can't promise that your class next week won't be actually carrying out these plans."

When she flipped around the white board, the board only read:

Use your imagination. No guns. Bombs are fine.

"No, that does make sense," Faramir agreed. "Having someone be able to keep their association with us hidden would definitely be convenient."

"Not that I know who that would be but it's a thought," he said and shrugged. "I don't usually plan these things. I just...do them."

"I usually have my brother to help me," Faramir admitted. "It is a good thought, we should map each other's strengths so we can put them to good use."

"Yeah, I agree," Percy said, nodding. "And probably find out the weakest points of the castle too. Wouldn't want anyone sneaking in some unlocked window and catching us by surprise."

"That would be unfortunate," Faramir laughed. "I would worry about a castle built with windows so near to the ground."

"That was more just an example of a soft spot," he said and laughed. "With castles, maybe a secret passage or some loose bricks or something."

"A secret passage would be annoying, for if there is one we should have used it to begin with," Faramir said. "But the position of their own soldiers should tell us what their weakpoints are. At least, I would expect them to know their own castle best."

"Yeah, good point," he said, nodding. "I guess, after we infiltrate, we go full bore towards the leader? Or stealth mission?"

"It could be a combination," Faramir mused. "You said that you are good at drawing attention?" he grinned a little, getting into the assignment the more they discussed it. "You draw the bulk of the defences towards while the infiltrators continue and seek out the leader."

He paused. "But only if we can be confident that we could take on the brunt of their forces on such a scale. We shouldn't risk our men needlessly."

"I think I could divert attention pretty well," Percy said, nodding. "Really well, in fact. I don't know if the spies we send inside could help out with the eventual fight but I could see people setting explosives, disabling weapons, that kind of thing?"

"Losing the keys to the armoury," Faramir nodded. "Yes. I do not know how explosives work, but from what I have seen on television, it should get us even more attention."

"And it would draw theirs," Percy said, nodding. "If walls and rooms and other things are exploding, their attention would be drawn between that and us which would make it easier to overwhelm them."

"We'd need to be careful, though," Faramir said. "We do not want to risk harming the defensive walls or lighting the place on fire. We need to keep it in a state that we can still defend it afterwards. Unless we wish to retreat into the building and leaves the walls for what they are, but they would be much easier to defend than a building would be."

"Yeah, good point," Percy agreed with a nod. "So, explosives in moderation if at all. Maybe here and there just to surprise but don't over saturate."
